New member check-in from Wisconsin

Hi all. We will be the owners of a new Passport 2521RL GT on March 30. This will be our fourth trailer and have been camping for 40+ years. We started in tents. After our forth child was on the way we borrowed a pop-up. Haven't looked back. Bought a Fleetwood/Coleman pop-up in 1994 that that fourth child is now using. Made the mistake of buying a China made iCamp in 2008. Cute but poorly made. Moved up to a 19' Palomino Puma. Needed a queen bed (to keep up with BIL) and bought a Jayco 26BH. Jayco feels dark and a bit cramped. Saw the 2521RL and pulled the trigger. BTW the BIL is also getting another trailer. I can't win.

Now if Winter would just go away...

Hey there Dobbs! we are getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2521rl... was wondering how you are liking the new rig. Any issues, mods or surprises? Thanks!

Hey Paulyd99.
We are happy with with 2521rl overall.
Our first time camping the bottom hinge of the friction door was so tight it ended up breaking. No problem with the replacement since. Also our USB ports on either side of the queen bed have never worked. My dealer couldn't fix it in time for the next trip so I took it home. No big deal as we usually have hookups. The ports on the slide work fine.
You will most likely have the urge/need to upgrade the mattress. We ended up buying furniture grade foam in a 2" thickness the size of the mattress and actually squeezed it inside the mattress cover on top of the incredibly poor excuse of mattress stuffing. Happy with this solution for over a year.
Only other problem was a bunch of plastic shavings that were in the fresh water tank and got into the pump causing the pump to cycle. No biggie to clean out and it works better than day one.
I'm always doing tweaking and mods. My wife's favorite so far is upgrading the bathroom faucet to a residential one in rubbed bronze.

Thanks for the reply! Those are some good things to watch out for. I’ll have to bring a cord to the delivery/walkthrough and test all the plugs.

I wish I had thought to test the USBs so good idea to bring a cord.
One thing I just remembered is that one of the inside speakers for the radio wasn't working but their tech had it working before we left.
As a side note I just counted my mods and fixes... 25 counting the ones mentioned before! I've been busier than I thought.

I’m sure I’ll be the same way. Love making changes and adding cool stuff. Can I ask what you’re towing with?

I'm towing with a 2013 F-150 SuperCrew, 3.5 Ecoboost, max tow, 6.5' box using an Andersen WDH. LT tires on the truck.
