That is definitely NOT a pretty sight.... With my limited knowledge of French, I'm guessing it was a bad thunderstorm with "flat winds" that did the damage. I can relate to the pain those owners must have felt. It's not a happy day when something like that happens. Thank goodness for insurance !!!!!

Howdy All;

Reckon the price of firewood will be a lot lower due to the recent
influx of freshly felled trees.

Scary sight... I hope no one was hurt!

Translated via Bing, and then Googled to find: Val-des-Bois is a community 50+ miles north of Ottawa (Quebec).

From the photo captions:
"Campground devastated in Val-des-Bois"
"The Green Lake Campground has been ravaged by the gusts, Sunday evening. Many trailers have been heavily damaged."

I can't be sure how each RV was crushed, but it looks like those with aluminum frames withstood the weight better than those with wooden frames. In one picture, the entire back and side of a fifth wheel was "missing". In many of the pictures with aluminum frames, it looks like they stayed together a bit better. While these few pictures aren't by any means a scientific test of RV integrity, they do demonstrate that none of these boxes (including the "high dollar" motorhome) are safe to be in when trees start falling.

Some of those trees would have smashed a house pretty good let alone a moving box on wheels. Hope no one was hurt. It would suck but then again another chance to buy a new coach knowing a nice big insurance check is on the way!

I'm almost regretting having started this thread. Too much negative thinking.
Here is a happy camping picture you can all print and hang in your RV.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, I feel sorry for everyone like these people spent a lot of money on their dreams and having them crushed like that isn't very funny.
Insurance claims are one thing but they don't replace everything that's been put in to their RV let alone the good memories.

Believe me 'Steve S', I never for a moment thought of it being funny.
