Campgrounds near Los Angeles and Sequoia National Park

Our family is planning a trip to California this summer. We are hoping to spend 4 days in LA and 4 days in Sequoia National Park. We have 3 kids ages 12-14 and are looking for a campground with things for them to do (pool, sports, fishing) We have just ordered our Outback 323 and have no experience dry camping and would prefer not to try it on this trip, so it seems that staying in the park won't be an option. Thanks for your help!

Near LA is East Shore RV park. We've been there several times and like the place. It also sits on Puddingstone Lake. You can walk down and fish from the shore.

For our Sequoia trip, we stayed at Sequoia RV Ranch. Full hookups and a river that runs through the place that's great for swimming. Supposedly some fishing up (or down) the river. Pretty close to the park entrance. Triple-digit hot in July which made swimming feel that much better.

In both cases, reserve as early as possible to get your pick of sites. We really like both places and have been treated well at both.

What are you planning on doing in LA.. The beach, Disneyland, Hollywood???? Your plans will dictate where you stay.

We would like to be as close to Hollywood as possible. As well as seeing the normal Hollywood sights, We are planning to go to the beach one day, tour the Warner Bros studio, and the Ronald Reagan library one day. Thanks!

Hollywood is in the middle of nowhere, relative to RV parks. There's only *one* park I know of in "the valley," and reviews are mixed. Balboa RV Park. Location-wise, it's exactly what you're looking for.
