UCT re: Hard Labor Creek Campground

Go to: www.campgroundreviews.com and select Rutledge, Georgia. You will find a few older reviews which are probably the same today as 3 years ago. Nothing changes much down there. Park is laid back and beautiful and nice golf course. The small town is just that. Small. The hardware store and the diner next door are worth visiting.

Wife and I have NOT CAMPED there, but we live 65 miles north and it is a drop dead gorgeous motorcycling adventure on back roads to get there and back home.

I am sure as the postings state, zero cell phone reception in the area. If you do stay, heed the suggestion to take the park offered cable. You are really on the boonies out there.

WARNING: DO NOT TRY TO BEAT TRAINS AT CROSSINGS OR DILLY DALLY AS YOU CROSS THEM. TRAIN ROARS THROUGH AT HIGH SPEEDS. GET ACROSS "THEM THERE" TRACKS BEFORE YOU GET DISTRACTED.

I have not gone there yet - we live in central Georgia.

But if you do go, post your experience here. I want to go sometime !

It is a couple of hours from our house.

It's been since 1996 when we lived in Stockbridge (Henry County) but this was our favorite get away location ... went there in our 40 ft Holiday Rambler and 36 ft Safari MHs. Loved the "seclusion" of the sites and the deer wandering through the park! Fantastic location.

I've been planning the "spring trip", Houston to Darlington SC for the NASCAR race. Hard Labor Park is one of my possible overnight stops. Sounds like it might work.
