Camera System

Recently purchased a 2021 Hideout BHWES. It came prewired for backup and side cameras. The mounts are Furrion. Any suggestions on what cameras to purchase and would the installation be a DIY project?

You can buy a adaptor on Amazon for the camera to fit the rear furrian mount. And wire it in with a pigtail adaptor

Anybody with a 2020-21 RAM how do you add a camera. There is no pin in the connector for a camera. How does my 20 RAM 2500 see a camera on my 5th wheel.

I have the furrion 5 rear camera and portable monitor in my cab on my 2021 montana. Have to say, on a 41 ft fifthwheel, its sucks, signal is too weak. Should be a giant disclaimer on these things. says range is 50 feet, well, 41+12 feet of truck apparently is too far away for a reliable signal.

Purchase the furrion system and yes it is a DIY very easy. For the side camera you will remove 2 screws slide the camera into the bracket replace the screws done. For the back up camera same thing remove a bracket plug in the connectors replace screws.

Once everything is connect you will pair the camera to the monitor and you are done. Just make sure when you are pairing your lights have to be on. If you have auto lights turn the auto off and just have them on. If you a have any problems contact furrion support they are great.

I put this one on our Monty. Works great for us. Ours came with the prep for Furrion. I made my own backing plate so I could use the Furrion gasket. Works like a champ

I have been doing a lot of research on cameras. The Furrion has gotten poor reviews from people with longer rigs. I had one on a previous 35' 5er and it was not reliable when driving. I am leaning toward a Haloview RD7. With the antenna extension it would be much more reliable, but then you have a wire running on your roof. I think having a reliable camera is worth the wire on the roof.
