Solar Panels

I plan to put a couple of 100 watt panels on the top of my trailer. Has anybody attached their panels using "glue"?

I found this on amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087CMF8SW...v_ov_lig_dp_it

All the reviews indicate they work well and people are happy with them. Not one written review below 4 stars. No complaints, but only 120 reviews.

Looks like a new product. I guess I might be concerned with aging.

Any experience with these?

I would be concerned with the success of gluing anything to the TPO roof membrane. First, I'd want to make sure that whatever "glue" is included with that mounting kit is compatible with TPO and that it wouldn't "melt or dissolve" the membrane...

Next, I'd be worried that the TPO is "glued to the wood decking" and no matter how "solidly held in place the brackets are" they are only as good as the glue holding the TPO in place. Sort of like "gluing layers together to make a plywood sheet", every layer is only as secure as every other layer...

Saw a video of someone pulling those flexible panels off the roof and because of the heat from the panels the roof membrane was bubbling and cracking very badly..

My concern is nothing last forever, what happens when/if that glued down panel needs replaced.
Honestly I'd feel more comfortable with screwing them down & keeping the screws covered in appropriate caulk.

I wouldn't do it myself for all the reasons given previously. To me it would be analogous to "gluing" a television bracket to a wallpaper coverd wall then hanging a 60" TV on it. Only the TV isn't subjected to wind and vibrations.

Heard the same thing on glue, panels coming loose.

Glue is probably fine is your parked in the same place all the time.
Wind at freeway driving speeds plus gusts of wind could have those panels moving around a bunch.
Properly installed/caulked screws will work great and not leak.
