Dually, finally

Been a bit since I posted, felt a bit disloyal jumping brands. Anyway, life has been all curve balls and we finally picked up a dually. With the Villano being a tank, and other projects, it was time.

We bought a dump trailer and skid steer, and wife came out one day and saw that the overloads on the F250 were missing “dirt” on them. She asked “ this truck is struggling, isn’t it”? Yep I said.

2 days later we picked this up. This thing is a towing monster. Hauled some gravel and the skid steer, no squat, no hesitation.

I am amazed how much more torque mine has then my 2003 3500 Duramax Dually. Last year pulling our Crusader 5er which weighed around 13k loaded with the 3500 over some passes I would have to slow down to around 30mph as the truck was working it's butt off. With the F350 and the Alpine which weighs over 16k loaded going over some of the same passes was a breeze.

Very nice dually.. should do well for your needs for a long time.. still running my 2007 GMC with the LBZ and 6 speed Allison.. Hauls my Alpine with ease over the Big Horn Mtns...

That dually will give you lots more pin weight leeway and the dual tires will be very stable.. congrats

Thanks. The 250 never lacked for power, it would pull the Alpine with ease, and fast.

We were going to kill it though with the dump trailer.

Bonus, while not overly trusting the in dash trip mileage, we got 17 mpg while coming home, at 65/75 mph

There are lots of people who say they do not need, or want a dually 3500. I think it's because they've never towed with one before.

Congrats on your new truck! You will never be disappointed towing anything.

Nice truck, payload is just a shade less than our 2016 Ram 3500 DRW Laramie.

Yeah Ford has been behind the payload game for many years. 2020 was a big leap forward, especially in SRW trucks.

wow, we pretty much have the same combo except I have a 2021 and a 2017 3660FL Alpine. You'll like truck. pulls the Alpine as if it's not even hooked up. Will stay in higher gears going up hill as well. Safe travels

Sweet ride! LOL

Yeah the Alpine is up for sale. We went "full" time while building a home and other projects and had to get a bit bigger 5ver to keep us happy and together.

I doubt any older model dually is going to do what a new one will. My 2021 Duramax dually is a beast like the rest of them.

GM as well. They also did a big leap on payload from 2019 to 2020 models.

Thanks much!

I will say this, I was never uneasy about pulling the Alpine with my previous truck, even knowing that I was over the recommended limits.

I picked up the Vilano, and only had 5 miles to get it home. I thought that truck was going to break in two, and the Vilano was completely empty.

It makes me scratch my head when I now see short beds hauling massive toyhaulers. That 5 miles was hair raising enough.

I looked hard for an F450 and really thought I couldn’t love the 350, but it’s been great. I drove truck for years and now have a MH, so been swinging wide for awhile.

I got this up in Pasco, from NW Motorsports. They seem to be the only dealer with any sort of a selection.

When we brought the 450 home my wife said it has to have a girls name because it has "hips". It is now called Shakira.

For those of you wondering where the name came from:
