I have a champion 100302. Its perfect!! Its easy move move, Its an inverter which makes it super quiet and it starts on the first pull every time. I got mine at home depot (special order) for around $600 bucks. This can run everything through its 30amp RV plug and will go for long runtimes even with the AC on. I know open frame might scare some off for noise and it may be a bit nosier than the Hondas but the near impossible moving of the Honda 3000 and the cost scared me off. When running it hard using the ac the motor runs faster and does make more noise but when just keeping on the lights and such it sits at idle and the noise is minimal. Happy camping

I purchased a Champion 3100 inverter generator right after I bought our trailer, in 2015.

It is a plain jane version, pull start only and it always starts on the first or second pull.

This past February, during the "stormagedon" event we had here in TX I used it to power the house for a couple of days, refueling every 6 hours and it ran continuously with no issues.

It will start and run the 15K BTU AC unit in our camper and also run the outdoor kitchen fridge and keep the batteries charged.

I bought it from Costco and it was under $700 delivered to my door.

The newer versions of it come in dual fuel, with electric start, but, be aware it will produce less power with propane than it does with gasoline, they also have a 3 year warranty. Altitude will also diminish power production

If this unit dies, I will definitely buy another Champion.

We dry camp only a couple of times per year but have been doing it now for about 15 years. Looking over your requirements and reading some of the other contributing posts, I would recommend picking up a "used" Honda EU2000 Companion generator. I see them for sale quite frequently and they are pretty bullet proof if properly maintained. Also, you can buy a Berg Fueling system quite reasonably through Amazon and this will keep your generator running for many hours and is hassle free especially if you run your Honda on "eco-throttle" mode which is also very quiet. https://www.amazon.com/Bergs-System-...2735332&sr=8-2

I have a Westinghouse igen2500. It runs everything in my trailer although I added a $30 start capacitor to my 13.5k a/c unit to ease the startup load. Have also used it to power the house during outages.
It is gas only, and I only put nonalcohol gas in it. Be aware that using propane drops a dual-fuel generator's output wattage by about 10%.

You might want to check out the Wen generators. We have the 56380i which is a 3800 watt inverter and have been very happy with it. It's quiet and reliable. We were without power for 3 days during the Texas freeze in February, and the generator ran non-stop except for refueling in temps down to 0 and didn't miss a lick. Downside is the runtime is only 4-8 hours depending on load. Wen seems to make a good product that is less expensive than a lot of the others. You can also buy them online direct from Wen.

Genkins 4500I

I this year got an open Genkins, frame inverter of 4500 starting watts and 4000 continuous delivered from Walmart online for $475.00 delivered. It is 86 pounds with fuel I believe. I have put a Tiny Tach hr meter on it and have acquired 17 hrs on it camping so far.

For those who fail at search engines: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Genkins-4...eaf6cc4eef407b

The open frame is lighter and less expensive and yes, slightly noisier than the encloser inverters.

Breakers!

I bought a Predator 3500 gen from HF. It works well except for the fact I didn't pay attention to the circuit breakers. My 30 amp plug-in only has a 15 amp circuit breaker. My AC will only run for about 4 min before it trips the breaker. A space heater will draw anywhere from 9 to 12 amps and running one of those plus other electrical appliances will trip the breaker as well. This is a factor to pay attention to when shopping for a gen.

The 3500 is not the running amps. The Predator 3500 is rated at 3000 running watts which at 120 v ac is 25 amps and not 30 amps.

Just to throw this into the mi: The Cummins/Onan is simply an off label of the Westinghouse 4500.

And with the HD Veteran's discount, there's an additional 10% off that price.

I have a Briggs and Stratton Q6500. Its $1199 at Amazon. Its really quiet and will give you all the power you could need. Bought mine in 2017 and it still starts on 1st or 2nd pull. Its on wheels with a handle to move around. Its heavy at 145 lbs but its the best generator I've used for the money. It has 4 20a plugs so i use an adaptor from 30a but it works. Honda are good but very expensive.

I have a Westinghouse 4500 watt that I got at Lowe’s for like $399. It was too good of a steal not to get it. Sure it’s louder than others but it’s not ran forever. I also just purchased a solar panel so I have to use it less and now only for the A/C if I need too. All about preference and needs.

That's a gen I should've bought. The Predator 6500 I took another look at had a 25 amp breaker on the 30 amp plug circuit. That definitely would've run my AC. The Predator 3500 has three 15 amp breakers on each of the three circuits; the 240V, and 2 120V. That was the point I was trying to make. That 240V circuit with 30 amp adapter wouldn't run my AC for five mins.

Yes I've never had a problem running ac. Of course on a 20a plug i wouldn't want to run ac/ microwave/ tv/ hairdryer etc all at once but I've never tripped the breaker.. now I probably jinxed myself but never had a problem and I've left gas in it over the winter etc. It fires right up and is quiet at something like 69db. The Hondas are only 68db.

Our ex SIL bought a Predator 8750 thyinking they would use it at the beach. Their trailer? a Coleman pop-up that I think may have been 10' long pulled by a Mazda RX 7. Ya, no the brightest flashlight in the drawer, henc the EX son--in-law status. With the battery, wheel kit and gas it was well over 200 lbs. It now sits where my 25 year old 3500 watt emergency generator for the house used to set.

The OP first stated she would like a generator that would have the fuel
capacity to run 10 hours.

Most if not all in her price range will only have a run time of about 5 hours
without a secondary fuel tank.

I have two Honda 2000i generators that I bought used off Craigslist for
$650 each, replaced the spark plug and did a oil change and they provide
enough power run together with a companion cable to provide the power
to run my one A/C unit, microwave, etc.

I went with the champion generator. It has a run time of 11 hours on gas and 34 hours on propane, in my price range.

Good purchase imo. I bought the Champion 2500 and found that it lasted 10-12 hours on Gas (and more on propane) over night with really the only load being the AC. Of course the time is dependent on the AC load that night.
