Upgraded Bedroom Furnace Duct in my 5th Wheel

I've read alot of complaints about heat flow from the furnace to the bedrooms of 5th wheels. I've owned my 5th Wheel Toyhauler about 3 months now, and have done significant modifications before we set out on the maiden voyage.

So this mod is on a 2011 Keystone Cougar 325SRX Toyhauler if you're curious. While I had the panels off in the basement storage pass-through doing some other things, I just couldn't put them back on without upgrading this vent. I can see why airflow is so poor in most units including mine. The old setup had basically a 4" flexible dryer vent that didn't allow air to flow very well. Replaced it with 2 new collars top and bottom and a piece of 5" Metal Flex Duct. All sealed up where necessary using aluminum tape.

I don't have a tool to test the CFM from the bedroom/bathroom vents before and after, I just did the simple Kleenex test. Before the vents wouldn't move a kleenex, afterwards no problem..

So if you're unhappy with heat in your 5th wheel upper bathroom and bedroom I'd give this MOD a try. Less bends in the pipe means steadier airflow, and larger pipe will help too. Chances are you can access this pipe by removing paneling in your basement storage like me pretty easy. Took a couple of hours taking my time..

Nice job. Looking at the original, I can see why there was little air blowing.
