It's like opening a jar of pickles. Place your fingers around the plastic rim gently, then unscrew about 20° and lift off. Some are stiffer than others.

Here is the model I bought [link]. The screwholes don't match (NBD) and neither does the LED color, which is a little warmer than the Keystone lights. It looks a bit silly if all the lights are on, but the warmer light is less glaring when DW wants to read and I want to sleep. They also offer a cooler light color, but for all I know it's cooler than the Keystone lights, so I didn't obsess over it.

One reviewer reported that his light came on everytime he disconnected then reconnected 12V power to his rig; I was a bit concerned about that, but determined that his was probably just faulty because mine does not.

Sure...

Here's a photo of the headboard area in context, with the puck light just under the cabinets over the center of the bed; a photo of the new socket [item link]; and (since I can't upload videos) a [link] to a video of the puck light in operation.

The puck light actually has a pretty wide range of intensity, but the camera isn't faithful and washes most of it out to appear much brighter than it is.

The factory USB charging port on the left side of the headboard, which is directly opposite the new outlet, isn't visible in these photos.

Added a sewer hose tube since we know have two black tanks...and I don't have to move a single one around.

Bought a new rim and mounted 5 new Carlisle E rated tires.

Will search through the forum for undermount options as I will take my old spare and carry two tires as we tend to take long distance trips.

I managed to complete a couple of things this week.

I installed a small inverter, in the entertainment centre, so that I can watch videos at night using the batteries.
I installed USB charging outlets at both side of the bed.
Added a pair of USB charging ports and a voltmeter under the TV.
I bought some battery powered IR activated light to install in the cupboards.
The closet in our bathroom is quite big and the pole sags when we load all our clothes onto it so I added a support in the middle.
New fire extinguishers to install tomorrow.
In the pass thru storage I have mounted my solar charge controller onto a hinge so that I can swing it out to read it better.

Oh, and I found out that when I am filling the potable water tank, not only does the water run out the fill opening, the little overflow hole, and it does run inside the unit. For tomorrow.

I modified and mounted a bal-hide-a-spare. So far so good.

Lubed the gears on the slides with WD-40 Silicone spray after cleaning.

Need to treat the slide seals both inside and out. Do you guys have a recommendation for cleaning and conditioning the slide seals?

Don't wait! The OE inserts are junk. They WILL come out at the most inopportune moment. Never had an issue until this trailer; first trip to FL a strip under the front of the 5th wheel came loose and started flopping as we were leaving Monroe LA on I20 with 80mph traffic, very little shoulder (in the rough) and the flopping trim on the highway side. Stuffed it back in, made it to a wide out and put a dab of silicone on each side in the bend; been 2 years ago and no issue.

Fast forward to 6 days ago on our return to TX...last leg. About 55 miles from home saw a string of something flopping/flying in the 65mph breeze on the driver side of the trailer; the entire insert from front to back on the top of the roof had come out and was just whipping everywhere. Left it because it somehow whipped and stuck itself in the bottom of the channel. Just put in almost 40' of insert along that roof line 2 days ago, received my roll of another 50' yesterday and will be doing the same for much of the rest. The OE stuff is so thin and floppy it's useless. The new HD insert is MUCH better. I'm still putting dabs of sealant along the routes to keep them from letting go though.

RV Airflow installed

While on our FL trip we got sick of the poor airflow to the bedrooms and the noise from the main venting of the AC. While we are alone its fine as we just open up all the doors, but with the grand kids one or both bedroom doors are closed as some point in time. Read about this in this forum last year and put it on my list of modification.

Took about an hour to install, but went in fairly easily adjusting for the gaps in the instructions (AC units are slightly made slightly different so there is some interpretation needed).

Seems to work, but will require a nice hot day to give it a good test.

Moving through the list we created of modifications. Want them all in place before we move this back into storage and prior to our next trip.

1. Although we had the same "OEM mattress" as the last trailer, our bodies said otherwise...it wasn't the same. Upgraded to a Bear mattress...and sold the used (almost new) one on craigslist.

2. Installed small mending plates on our outside stove to retain the wind shields and keep the cover from falling down.

3. Installed a "lend-a-hand' door handle on the back door.

4. Prepped for the inverter install (pic of inverter, solar controller, shutoff, battery wire jumpers). Holes for wiring in pass through and 250A DC breaker installed. Waiting for the inverter remote and I upgraded to a solar controller with bluetooth (hopeful install this weekend).

First day on the road, got into the campground, unhitched, took a rest stop while DW finished the interior setup, and came back to find the slide all cockamamie halfway out of the unit. Said she tried to put it out twice, and it went out crooked and scraped the ceiling. Not good news on day one of a cross-country trip.

From the side, I could see a loose cable. DW said that the slide would come back in with no trouble, so we did that.

It was our extreme good fortune that the cable was not broken, but had become unscrewed from the traveling block. Either the jam nut had worked its way off or it was never installed. And more good fortune that it was one of the blocks I could reach over the closed slide from the bedroom door side. I screwed it back onto its mount, but I'm pretty sure the adjustment is off because the top of the slide hits the outer frame before the bottom, so we have a slide tilted slightly more than it was previously. Going to have to live with it until we get back home and I can take the facia board off and do whatever diddly adjustments are needed to get the cables equalized and plumb. Maybe I'll even be able to correct the droop the slide has always had straight from the factory.

What did you do to your RV today?

Anyone try one of the two options Reese goose box for their older keystone?

I measured my buddies goose box and it’s only 12” wide to go inbetween his bolt mounts, mine on my 2008 raptor it’s 13” wide

Suggestions

Thinking of building some plates that are 1/2 for some spacing

?

As I had said previously, I am replacing my MorRyde Step Above folding steps with the Torklift Glowstep Revolution Uprising (long name) steps. I ordered them today (etrailer) and will be here mid week. I will post a pic or 2 once I get them and they are installed. I'm tired of not being able to access the inside of the RV while in the storage barn.

Put some lap sealant on the roof. Remove ac cover and inspect, all clean, looks like it hasn’t been used. Put a vent cover over the existing bathroom vent. It will be nice to leave that vent open, not worrying about rain getting in.

This was project week...to get everything done before we start traveling next week.

1. Washed and Waxed the rig. (next time I will have and use a buffer)
2. Installed SoftStart unit for AC.
3. Installed Victron Smart Shunt battery monitor.
4. Checked and topped off water level in batteries.
5. De-winterized and sanitized the fresh water system
6. installed new batteries in the TST 507 TPMS sensors.

I think I’ve gotten the Andersen WDH dialed in after our first pull with the new F-350.

90°F outside today so being a genius and all, I decided to climb up on the roof and upgrade the bathroom fart fan vent.

I'm wondering what you folks that upgrade vents do with the old units. I don't see myself swapping this unit back over for any reason and rather not store it. Perhaps I need to join a "van life" forum and offer it up to someone converting a van...
