After market transmission cooler doesn't do any good with 2017+ Ford transmissions. They have a thermostat in them that doesn't open till 220 or so. They are designed to run hotter than most people are comfortable with. Normal operating temp is 220-250. Ford has found increasing temp increases efficiency. Fords new synthetic transmission oil can take the heat. Long video of why hot to most people isn't "hot" to Ford.

Pulling 13k or so, I never saw the 2020 7.3L 10 speed ever get past 220 in full summer Texas heat. The pavement around 130F type heat.

Come out west in the dry mountains. I can see 230 to 240 all the time in the summer climbing passes, first trip worried me coming from a 90's Dodge Cummings. Noticed the fan wasn't coming on. Little research and guages showed it was normal range.

We moved daughter and family to Albuquerque in August last year. I noticed tthat the F-350 got better mileage in NM and did not have any change in trans temp in the higher elevation. I did not look at a specific temp coming up out of Albuquerque but nothing special about the gauge reading. We went in at 20K+ and came out at 16K+ GCVW. 1026 miles, average 7.9 MPG. 7ish in Texas, around 8 in NM. Just the truck running alone was getting 15 in NM. Averaged 12~12.5 around here. Truck weighed 7510 with two of us and a full fuel load (48 gallons).
