Fly into San Antonio, they'll pick you up.. sign and drive away, by the time you get back home it'll be broke in enough to tow..

You know I didn’t even consider that. I break in any other motor I have but didn’t think about that before towing with it.

Don't have to break in modern engines. It's the driveline gears that need to "break in" before towing.

I stand corrected. Called another Ford dealer and seems like a decent guy to deal with. He said that he hasn’t seen any issues with ordering other then the delayed wait time. Said that some guys (salesman) might not want to be bothered with ordering a truck and would rather only sell what they have on the lot. He did say his dealership is turning down like average of 12 requests a day to switch trucks (trade between) other dealerships because of low volume on lots...one nice thing I did mention what Javi said about flying into Texas and I thought I may be between a rock and a hard place negotiating wise because technically my ride back would still be owned by them until deal was done.. but he said nope he does that all the time and I shouldn’t worry about that. He rattled off like three deals from across the country he made. Seems like a straight shooter and low pressure. Exactly who I like to deal with. He is gonna do a search and see what he can do or I can order through him.lastly may just fly out to Texas after all

BREAKING-IN

You need to break in new tires for approximately 300 mi (480 km). During this time, your vehicle may exhibit some unusual driving characteristics.
Avoid driving too fast during the first 1000 mi (1,600 km). Vary your speed frequently and change up through the gears early. Do not labor the engine.
Drive your new vehicle at least 1000 mi (1,600 km) before towing a trailer. Make sure you use the specified engine oil.

Do not add friction modifier compounds or special break-in oils during the first few thousand miles (kilometers) of operation. These additives may prevent piston ring seating.

This sounds like a vintage bike top end (rings) break in tip. On a vintage air cooled bike with sloppier tolerances, you put a cross hatch hone on the cylinder walls and then run the bike with varying speed so the cross hatch gets worn into evenly because if you sit at one speed (trolling along at 57 mph) it won't The tires have release juice on them for when they pull them out of the mold and this needs to be scuffed off else they will be a tad slippery; either that or do some burn outs in the dealer's parking lot to get rid of any of this stuff and the folks in the dealership will appreciate the show!

It is a copy and paste from the 2021 Ford Super Duty Owner's manual.

Javi has it figured out. Change your search to Texas. There are a few truck only Ford dealers around. I know there's one in Houston, gotta be in San Antonio and Dallas.

If a GM truck is still in your thoughts here's a dealer in Mi. I was by the lot this past Sun. and there were 3 Crew cab dually diesels sitting there. Michigan is a lot closer than Texas.

AL Packer, about 5 miles away, they have 8 F350 in stock according to their website.
Here's a Platinum dually. https://www.alpackerswhitemarsh.com/...bea4feb292.htm

Two trucks ago I had a 2005 Ford F350 Lariat crew cab 4X4 short bed single rear wheels with a 6.0 diesel. I pulled a 2006 Heartland Bighorn 3500. I put 175,000 miles on the truck and wore a set of axels out on the 5th wheel. I had problems with fuel injectors to the point I was going to forget camping, until my wife told me that I married a camper and that we were not quiting.
On my new truck I like the long bed it is easier to see when backing I can get glance without the mirrors on the blind side. The dual wheels is lower to the road and feels much more stable.

But I grew up poor in rural Texas and never learned that I needed all that stuff.. heck the DW and I had a B/W TV until our daughter was in high school...
Well I see you at least have heated seats in the summer! I sure hope your vinyl seats are lite grey or white, can’t imagine how hot a dark color would get in the Texas sun.
As said this is our only vehicle so needs to be comfortable for daily driving.

I drive the dually every day and if we go out of town it is what we take, the DW has a 2014 Ford Focus which hasn't hit 30K yet.. She drives it to her parents or to the store while I'm at work..

We're just not all that tender butted I guess.. Or may it's that we both wear jeans...

BTW Dark Blue interior

Look, it really isn't my business if someone wants butt warmers or A/C for their bottom, I think it's a waste of money but that's just my opinion. I probably spend money on stuff that other's think is a waste too.. Like replacing the tires on my 5th wheel every two years regardless of wear. Or whatever current thing that has caught my interest. Although currently other than work and camping I'm pretty much at a stand still.

Before I retired the first time, I would buy the fanciest pickups I could order with every available bell and whistle that could be had... but I had an ulterior motive, I would drive them for 1 year or 100K and then sell them and order a new one.. The company paid all expenses and my average mileage was usually 100K per year.. Funny thing was when alone in the truck I rarely turn on the A/C or radio/stereo, I grew up without all that and spent most of my life outdoors so I never missed it.

Now I spend about 1/2 my day in my office and the other half out in the shop which is a 77,000 sq ft metal building with no A/C and very little heating so I'm still not missing the creature comforts.. it was only 115` in the shop just a few weeks ago.. today it's about 40`..

I don’t know where you live, but, just a caveat: snow and drw do NOT work together! Ranchers out on the plains have their dedicated drw as the tow vehicle. Local rancher had a 1 ton drw flatbed. Said the more wheels the deeper it gets stuck. Wouldn’t drive it in the snow, took his Srw truck. School bus mechanic in Breckenridge , Co, where I was teaching said that the skinnier the tires, the better the traction in deep snow, so I kept the narrow tires on my CJ5.
