Bullet Crossfire 1900RD Hitch Height?
Hi all. I am a few weeks away from the delivery of a 2018 Bullet Crossfire 1900RD. I will be pulling it with a 2018 Honda Ridgeline, and using an Eaz-Lift Trekker 6000/600 Weight Distribution Hitch.
The Ridgeline's unloaded top-of-receiver height is 19.5". In order to ensure that the adjustable range of the WDH is appropriate, I need to know the unloaded hitch height (bottom or top) of a recent year 1900RD. The TT dealer doesn't have a 1900RD on site, and Keystone customer service repeats "we don't have that information" when I call into them.
Does anyone have a relatively unloaded level 1900RD that they can measure it's hitch height on? Sure would appreciate it.
You'll recognize my wife and I driving into the sunset with "Cyril" scrolled across the rear of the 1900RD!
Thanks.

You are not getting the WD hitch from the dealer?

The dealer carries the Husky Center Line TS but I prefer the Trekker.

Is there a reason the dealer won’t do it at time of delivery? I could see a .5hr charge being reasonable.

Thanks for your response. As it turns out, the dealer or I may order the Trekker WD Hitch. And the dealer or I may install it. But, whichever way we go, we must still make sure our order includes the correct Trekker shank because the dealer doesn't stock Trekker shanks. If we get it wrong, I'm a 5-hour round trip back to him, some re-order + delivery days later. We could wait for the 1900RD to show up at the dealer's lot and then order the Trekker, but I'm trying to pick up the 1900RD fairly close to its arrival date.
So, it'll be either Trekker's standard-height-range shank, or Trekker's long-height-range shank. I can determine which shank if someone can tell me the hitch height of a relatively unloaded level 1900RD. It should be around 23" to the top of the receiver. Anyone have a recent-year 1900RD to measure this?
Thanks

You can call CAMCO at 1-800-334-2004 and ask what is range of drop and rise of there standard shank. Tell them what vehicle you have and what you or pulling and I bet they could answer your questions if they have done any testing. I would measure the center of my receiver on level ground and have the infro handy.

Thank you. I called Camco but they know nothing about Keystone hitch heights. Anyone have a 1900RD that they can measure the hitch height on?

I have a 2018 1900R. Sitting level it is about 24 inches to top of the coupler. The top of the receiver on my Jeep sits 20 inches from the ground and my WDH has a 8 inch drop/rise shank, but 4 inch would be enough.

Excellent! Thank you. Will I be seeing you driving into the sunset as well LabRat?
This is a great next chapter - we plan to hike, bike and kayak every state, national and provincial park across North America before someone starts throwing dirt onto me. I grew up with Lake Superior wind in my nostrils.

I have a 2017 Bullet Crossfire 1900RD. I don't use a WD hitch but you may need one with the IRS of a ridgeline. I can measure the height as it sits level when I get home. My trailer if lifted with bigger tires though so I may not be much help.

We are a few years from sailing into the sunset, but plan to in the future.

Just got home and measured... My sitting level 1900RD measures 26" to the top of the coupler. I have 235/85R16 tires and it sits a bit higher than stock.

Thank you. So, examining info from the Camco EAZ-Lift website, with my TV's 19-1/2" top-of-receiver height and with LabRat's 24" measurement for his stock 1900RD, that would position the Trekker head right in the middle of its adjustable flippable-shank range, with the ability to position the ball 1-1/4", 2-1/2", or 3-3/4" higher or lower from there. Perfect. It appears that my TV mated to a Trekker can accommodate a stock 1900RD, a loaded 1900RD or your 2" higher one. Many thanks to everyone.

any sway at all without a WDH on your F150?
any bounce coming from this single axle 1900RD?

I have airbags in the rear to keep the truck level when towing. I have towed up to 80 mph on the interstate just to try it but I usually run around 65 mph. The only time I notice anything is when getting next to a large vehicle at speed but it's really not bad at all. I drag this thing off road a lot but I go slow so as not to bounce things around too much.

Crossfire 1900 RD
Hi Jonas,
I am considering buying the Crossfire 1900 RD but am totally intimidated by the thought of having to use a WDH (approaching age 70 and looks too hard from videos). I have used a friction sway bar on my previous trailers. I have a 2015 Frontier Crew Cab pickup- 2WD. Do you have a sway bar or you just tow it without anything? Thanks, Lynne

I'm not Jonas, but....don't. Don't buy an RV without buying a WDH and sway control. I am assuming you are pulling with a Nissan Frontier pickup. The Frontier is not big enough to pull any trailer of much size without a wdh/sway setup unless you just hate yourself.
WDH/sway hitches come in different flavors so you can look to see what they consist of. Andersen makes a light wdh that doesn't look too complicated. I don't buy into their design but it might work for you situation, and certainly beats nothing.
AND: Welcome to the forum!!

Take a look at the Andersen hitches. No heavy bars and the head is relatively light. I went with this style because my back couldn't handle the heavier hitches anymore. It's lighter and easier to hitch up and use IMO.

Crossfire 1900 RD sway bar vs WDH
Is the issue the length? My truck says not to use WDH for TT under 4000 lbs. The tow capacity is 6300 lbs. We usually have a Thule bike rack with 2 bikes on the back which offsets the tongue weight quite a bit on our previous trailers.

It specifies to not use a wdh for trailers under 4k?? On a Frontier? Max tow is 6300 lbs.? Seems to me something is wrong. Can you post where that comes from? If from Nissan, they are derelict IMO. I don't think the issue is the trailer length; it's the small truck - or both. Here's the link from Keystone for specs;
https://www.keystonerv.com/travel-tr...0rd-crossfire/
It's a 4700 lb. trailer. The tongue, loaded, could be in the 600 lb. range. Loading bicycles and "stuff" just elevates the "towed" weight. It's a Frontier; what is the payload/gvw etc.? Look at the sticker on the door frame. How many folks, dogs, cargo etc. are you going to put in the truck? What is the weight of all that....+ the tongue weight? A Frontier is not an RV towing pickup in the general sense.
Heck, I live in W TX and get to watch all sorts of folks trying to tow with all sorts of stuff in all kinds of W TX "stuff". Ran to Lubbock today and passed a Tundra (speed limit 75) "trying" to pull about a 25' trailer. W TX wind, maybe 25 (slight breeze here but had gusts) from the E (cross ways to the highway). He was going about 45 (in a 75), wiggling and waggling, and when I passed he was STONE COLD fused to the steering wheel; both hands gripped so tight I could see the blood veins; straight up, MAX attention straight ahead. He looked about my age; 68-70ish. Not ideal. I had just pulled my trailer back home yesterday; in winds much stronger with no problem at 65 mph. I felt sorry for him.
All that to point out I worry about you taking that truck and trying to pull the trailer you hope to get without a wdh. A Tundra is WAY more a tow truck than a Frontier so just keep that in mind. Get the wdh and I'm sure someone here can help you with it. Good luck.

Per Nissan- "For Armada, Frontier, Pathfinder, Titan,
and Nissan NV vehicles, a weightdistributing
hitch ball mount (Class IV) is
recommended if you plan to tow trailers with a maximum weight over 5,000 lbs. "
I have had Tacoma trucks before and the Frontier is a much heavier duty truck. Towing my previous trailer with it I didn't even know it was there (had been towing with a Toyota Highlander which was the dog wagging the tail).
The dry weight on the Keystone Bullet Crossfire 1900 RD is listed as 3393 lbs. I do not travel with my holding tanks full usually emptying when heading out of the campground.
Are you thinking it is one of the larger models?
I had been considering one of the Sonic campers but really like the features that the 1900 RD has.
