Best Campground in Pigeon Forge/Sevierville TN Area

Hi Everyone!

Just returned from 6 days staying at Anchor Down RV Resort in Dandridge TN. Best campground in the Pigeon Forge/Sevierville area there is now. All the sites are great with views of the Douglas Dam Lake. The staff is friendly and always willing to help you with any problems/concerns/issues you may have during your stay.

An added bonus to our trip was that we got to meet Doug and his family before we left....it's really great to talk to everyone on here and then get to put a face with a name!! Thanks Doug for stopping by our site!!

Great review. We are headed that way the end of June for 6 days. So glad to hear it went well. Thank you.

My wife and I stayed there last August for 6 days. Beautiful area and the campground is second to none.

We like rivers edge on the parkway in Pigeon Firge but still very quiet. Has nice amenities and a heated pool. Plus it's closer to everything and the prices are good.

At the end of our five day stay, I have mixed feelings on this campground. Yes, the views are nice and the individual sites are nice. However, management of this campground is poor. Most of the rental golf carts are being driven around by children, haphazardly. The after hours staff refused to sell us firewood because he thought the wind was too high, but later delivered the same to a large group on the lower level. We will probably not return.

We love Anchor Down and staying almost two weeks there again in June. The place is immaculate and we didn't have any issues whatsoever last time we were there. We'll be in a Momentum toy hauler and an F450 from Texas if anyone is there from the 8th-20th of June.

We will be there 26 June to 2 July. We will be in the Passport 2810 from MD towed by a 2014 Forest Green Silverado. If someone overlaps with us stop by.

We'll be there from June 19th-23rd, it's already hard to find a good spot so we grabbed what was available now!

We arrived at Anchors Down on Sun and leave Thur, what a great campground! Fast internet and big clean paved sites. We need to book a little earlier next year, two months out wasn't soon enough. This is our Raptor on the left end, great spot with sun in the morning but shady all afternoon.

What is that tan structure next to your site? Looks like an outdoor fireplace??

10-4. I may reconsider Anchor Down. I had thought it was further from the park. I may go back next year, earlier in the spring. Anchor Down will be on the short list.

I finally arrived at Anchor Down at 10pm tonight. We had several delays today due to a damaged tire, then a blow out and some brake issues. A total of 4 tire changes and 2 new tires today. What site are you in? We are in 119.

We left last Thur.

What brand tires were you running? I installed all new Maxxis tires on the camper last fall worrying that this exact thing might happen to us. Then before we left last week to head to the camp ground every tire had air added and I re-torqued all the lugs.

I also removed my custom wheels and mud tires from my truck and put my stock wheels and tires back on, air pressure checked and lugs torqued.

Luckily you didn't have an accident and arrived safe, hopefully your vacation is relaxing and incident free here on out.

Sorry, I miss understood when you were here. I had my OEM China Bombs but I'm pretty sure I induced the failures yesterday. I hit a curb. Yesterday had to get what was available, more China bombs, just to get back on the road. Will change them all soon.

Anchors Down is the Ritz Carlton of campgrounds! My wife has a friend that stayed there and told her about the place. We were there back in April. I have mixed feelings about the place, only because now the she expects us to stay in campgrounds that nice everytime we go camping!
