fresh water holding tank

Hey ya all, Am looking at the high country 321 RES at the rv show and am wondering how do you fill the fresh water tank. I see a city water inlet, no gravity water fill. went inside could not see a switch to open the fill hose to the tank. where is it located? thanks

Look on the outside, towards the rear, probably on the same side where the city hook up is. It's more likely a little door requiring a key to open, it's behind that door. The door is no more than 6"x6" in size. Happy Camping, Sam

It doesn’t look like this?

I’m not sure what those other inlets are, but that door does look like Shower. Some pictures show the 6x6 door on the same side aft of the rear slide.

I know I have a toatlly different unit but mine is located on the curb side and leads directly into the tank located behind my three axles with no locking cover just a thread on cap.

The outside shower door should look something like this one. On my RV, the city water hookup is the bottom one and the fresh water tank fill is the top one in the second picture.

Some RV's have a smaller door (similar to the shower door) but usually they open to the side and the key lock is on the side, not the top as with the shower door.

Hope this helps some.

If you look at sdayman's second picture, at the far right, towards the end of the unit, there is a small black door maybe 4x4, requiring a key, that's it. Happy Camping, Sam

I have not seen any kind of RV in the last 10-15 years that did not have the locking door for the fresh water fill. I believe they put it behind a lock (however flimsy the CH751 may be) so that someone can't just open the fill and drop something bad in there. Children in particular are prone to doing this, not from any evil intent, but more from natural curiosity and imitation of parents.

Steve.......better come and look then at the fresh water fill on our '08 Cougar 5th 278RKS. Ours is not behind any locked door and sits all by its exposed and easily-accessible self. It has an attached cap similar to a typical gas cap but definitely not child or adult proof and can be easily removed. Now you've got me worried!
Hankaye has the exact same RV as we do so perhaps he can verify my story.
Sorry, no pic available as evidence.

Ditto what Festus said. Over the years, we've only owned one RV with the
fresh water fill behind a locking door... that was our previous Keystone.

Here is a pciture of the water fill on my 2005 Raptor DS3612. As you can see it is open to the world and this is one of the things on my list of modifications. I plan on adding a locking door to prevent the possibility of tampering.

Same with our fresh water fill. It's simply a round disc with a "gas tank" type of screw on cover. The only towable RV I've had with a locking door for the fresh water was the Holiday Rambler. Otherwise, either a pull out funnel type or similar to the current "fuel cap" style. On the motorhome, it was in a compartment with all the tank drains, shower, electric hookups and the compartment door was lockable with access through a small opening in the bottom. I found a way to close off that small opening with a door after a family of skunks took up residence one fall.
