Heater on 327 RES

seems as though I'm not getting the same air flow out of heater vents as when I first used the RV which also cuts back on the amount of heat output from furnace. RV is new only taken out three times. Heater air flow seemed to work fine at first now I'm not so sure. I don't see any visible blockage anywhere. Thermo is set on auto so I can adjust temp up or down.

Any suggestions.

Do you have the digital thermostat? I have the digital thermostat. I never had much luck with auto. I cycle mine through until it says high. Then set my temp. Try that and see. Without more details really can't give more answers.

Some folks on here have had the same issue as yourself and what they found is the main electrical cable was laying on the flexible duct work and collapsed it, also you may want to look at the heater itself and make sure a flex duct has not come loose there or where it attaches to the ridged ducting...Good Luck

Thermostat - do you not find that you are circulating cold as well through the AC by running this way? I spoke with Keystone 2nd time out and they had told me to run on auto and adjust temp this way.

Checking the heater box sounds like it might be a good idea, access panel is right below refrigerator and easy to remove. Had it running the other day, Question do you know if the heater cycles cold air from outside vent as well as exhaust. Seems as though one of the holes on the outside vent was sucking air as well as discharging. This seems inefficient to me. If this is true then heater would always be recycling cold air vs warn air back into the coach. do you know answer to this. I will check lose duct of main unit.

The heaters intake and exhaust are that chrome thing on the outside near the heater area with 2 holes one above one below. I ripped a hole in one of the ducts while vacuming out of saw dust etc. Be careful with them if they are the flexable duct.

The outside furnace vents do NOT affect the cabin air. There are two vents on the outside, one is an intake fresh air vent, the other is the exhaust hot air vent. The combustion chamber for the furnace is sealed from the cabin of the RV. The heat exchanger blows the cabin air over the OUTSIDE of the combustion chamber to heat it and force it into the ductwork to be distributed throughout the cabin.

The combustion chamber is sealed, fresh air is brought in through the outside intake and the exhaust gasses are removed from the combustion chamber through the other outside vent. You are correct, in saying it seems like an 'inefficient" system. The best RV furnaces are about 85% efficient, many are much less efficient. A tremendous amount of heat is exhausted (wasted) out that vent. But, none of the cabin air is drawn into the RV or exhausted from the RV through that vent. It only connects to the combustion chamber. The purpose of the sealed combustion chamber is to prevent any CO or propane to be vented into the RV. All of the products of combustion are kept within that chamber and directed outside through those vents.
