Bedroom ventilation 327RES

One of the reasons i bought the 327 is the bedroom windows. After taking delivery i found there is no screen on the emer exit window, the largest window. Did your 327 come with a screen on the emer exit window or had one made?

Dealer suggested replacing the vent with a fan. Indicated I could tap into the ceiling light for power.

I did get the single 15k a/c. Would it put out enough cool air to cool the bedroom? Its mounted over the living room but has ceiling vents in the bedroom.

With cool nights here in colorado i prefer just opening a few windows.

Thanks.

We have a 2013 333 that has a similar floor plan. All of our emergency exit windows have screens. Knowing Keystone, maybe forgot to include the screens when delivered. Have you called the Dealer?

Our 2014 Cougar 1/2 ton 24RKS came without screens on any of the emergency windows.

We had to have one window replaced under warranty and the replacement window came with a screen and a handle to hold the window out.

I see now that the newer versions come with screens and handle

I'll give the dealer a call. Nothing to lose and maybe they did forget it. Thanks.

The Emergency window in my trailer has a screen. I think the window on the 318 is smaller though.

The single AC is plenty for us. At low altitude the trailer may get warm during the day, but cools by bed time.

In the high country, we usually need the heater when the sun goes down. Love Colorado.

My 327 has the screen on the inside in our bedroom but my window is smaller than yours with the new redesigned bedroom. the living room exit window does not have a screen.
Do you have frameless windows?

Sounds like they might have forgot to install it. I'll call the dealer tomorrow. Actually the service guy is coming by tomorrow morning for a propane leak/smell. My drive way has too much snow to hook up and run down to the dealer. He said he's slow right now and wouldn't mind coming out. No argument from me. I post the answer.

We have the same unit 2013 and don't have a screen for that window either. Dealer said, reason being... E-Window.

Our Cougar XLite 27RKS has three push out escape windows, one in the bedroom and two in the corner kitchen windows. All three have screens on them.

We have had members post for several years now that some windows do not have screens and members with the same year/model RV have reported that they do have screens on the same windows. I'd think in some cases the screen was removed for some reason and just didn't get reinstalled somewhere along the way. The "excuse" that "it's an escape window and shouldn't have a screen" doesn't hold any value in my opinion. There are more escape windows WITH screens than WITHOUT as far as I can tell.

Some have reported success in getting dealerships to order a replacement screen and others seem to meet with resistance. I suppose it depends on how you approach the dealer and how they perceive your request.

Took a closer look at the window last night. Has 2 red release levers on each side. And is hinged at the top. There isn't anything to hold it open. So maybe it's not intended for anything but an exit. It's a pretty large window.

Also looked at several 327 pictures on rv trader. Couldn't tell if that window had a screen. Did notice that this window may have changed. Some had 1 release lever at the bottom instead of the 2 I have.

Seems like a waste not being able to open it for some air.

Thats is the way my window in the living area is.
the bedroom window has a single 7-9 inch lever arm that unlocks and then swings to an open position and then is pushed out to a locked type position and then allows air to move through the opening. The whole bedroom design has changed from the 2011 model.
I like the lay out in the newer ones.

Talked to the service mgr. he tells me I should have a screen. Ultimately it'll come down to what the factory tells him. I'll let you know how this ends.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone that has a 2014 327res and if they got a screen.

I've got a 2013 that we got in June. The huge window in the bedroom has no screen.
