New to Keystone

Hello everyone,

Not new to camping but new to keystone. After about a year of research, 4 states and who knows how many camper dealership visits, We bought a 2020 Outback 324CG. We upgraded from a Starcraft Satellite 16KS. Massive jump from a 16 foot to a 37 foot. We knew that the trailer would be big so about 6 months before we had to buy a Ram 2500 as the Jeep JKU definetly would tow it. We are loving the new camper, tons of storage, king bed and of course the cargo garage.

That is a huge jump in trailer size; be careful when pulling into filling stations as it will take awhile to adjust to driving while pulling that big a trailer. Take a minute to put a signature together that lists your trailer year, make, model and put your tow vehicle in there as well. Will help folks answer the inevitable questions you will have. Good luck and welcome!

Thank you. Definitely have been. I've driven plenty of big and long trailers, just has been a while. Airbags coming for he truck to help smooth out the ride.

Folks responding will be answering out of their own perspective; I own a 27' fifth wheel and after years of driving with campers my driving still stinks. I have scraped the driver's side so many times it is almost funny. I have also taken out many cactus plants. That is why a 37' trailer causes my mind to go in that direction!

Hello and welcome to the forum!

We went from a 30 foot TT to a 40 foot fiver, and it took some driving adjustment as well.

Have fun!

Airgrunt, welcome to the forum from Tennessee. And what George said, fill in the signature so we know what you're hauling it with, etc. I haven't had quite the scraping experiences George has, but no one warned me of what is apparently called 'jumping cholla' in Arizona and the dangers of driving around them.

Those things are better in your tire sidewall then your arm or leg. BTDT!

We don't have those cactus nasties in the Texas Hill Country that I know of. My property is covered with a few varieties of prickly pear; when they have new stickers and you brush up against them, the stickers are super-fine and almost impossible to remove. Probably not as bad as those cholla (barbed needles) but bad anyway.
