I got my Bargman #07s this week and installed them today. Oh, boy, are they *bright* at night! I like that they're hollow inside and I could push the wire and wire nuts inside them so I didn't have to cram all that stuff back under my trailer's skin. I'm going to run a bead of silicone around them and put in longer/thicker screws tomorrow.

Can anyone comment on compatibility of mounting the Bargman O7s on a slight downward tilt? The lights on my 19FBPR are located low on the rear of the coach where the back panel cuts back in a little. Earlier versions of the trailer came with round, recessed LED tail lights but they disappeared sometime during the 2012 model year. I suspect the change was made due to cost of the parts rather than function, but at one time I had heard that the LEDs were somewhat "directional".

If the angle isn't terribly severe, the 07's should be OK. As you can see from this photo, they are actually higher than my head (yes, I had to stand on a ladder to install them, and, yes, my yard slopes that steep ) and I'm standing about 25' back and centered between the two.

Some LEDs are more directional than others. The 07's LEDs are domed (the individual LED's are mounted in domed diffusers) and have a much wider angle of acceptance than a flat mounted LED.

That's quite an angle on the Premier. Those are at about the same height as mine. It'll certainly be less than optimal. I'd recommend finding an angled sheet of material such as hard rubber or soft plastic and cut out wedges for the 07s. You'll have to do some additional sealing, but it'll be well worth the effort.

Here's a pic of an older 19FBPR with what was once the standard equipment LEDs. It gives a better view of the angle I would be dealing with. Maybe I should just tow without my weight distribution gear...that might tilt the trailer forward enough to put the tail lights on the verticle

That is a pretty severe "undercut" angle. You could, if you are so inclined, convert the existing tail lights to backup lights and then install your LED tail lights a bit higher on the flat surface of the trailer.

Just a thought, might catch two birds with the same stone

I found a post on the rv.net forum that might be the answer to my issue regarding mounting LEDs on and angle:

http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fu...print/true.cfm

After seeing this, I think the stock incandescents on my coach should have been installed with the wedge block as shown to begin with and I should add them even if I don't upgrade to the LEDs

Well, at least they have pictures of the wedge I had in mind, but I didn't think it'd have to be that drastic of a wedge. Neat that someone found one that's shaped like the 07.

Actually, they used a wedge from the rectagular Series 92 lights, but with a little extra caulk, they made it look like a pretty good match for the 07 series.

Those are the "go to" things when I have a job like that... I used both products when I put my tail lights on...no damage to the filon, no loss of gloss, no scratches.
Thanks for the info and those links. Been needing solutions like that for various things for some time.

Thanks for all the info on the 07 lights.... Will make my install much easier...
In preparation I remove the existing lights to see what i was in for and cleaned as much of the caulk off as possible. I have nice round holes in the fiberglass and will need to buy some Closed End terminal connectors to crimp the wires with. Fortunate when going through the 5er I found a nice set of crimp pliers...
