The math looks like I'm good with this set up.
Dry weight is useless unless you plan on towing the trailer as a display and not using it camp.
Pin weight is based on "dry weight" or delivery weight, not real weight or actual weight.
Max tire load is useless when talking how much the TRUCK can carry.
Payload number, ios that from the door sticker or the internet? The door sticker is the rating for YOUR truck. Increasing tire capacity DOES NOT INCREASE PAYLOAD.

Did you buy the trailer new? How long have you used it? Is this a new problem or has it been like this from day one?

yes I bought it new, it is a new problem since November, we towed it home to use for overflow sleeping over the holiday and when we returned to my job we noticed the problem, I was able to clear it with a plunger but it has started again.

Sorry, your weight actually is 13542+2530+2967=19039. You can't just ignore the trailer payload (carry capacity) when calculating or measuring the trailer GVWR. At 20% of GVWR, your estimated pin weight will be AT LEAST 3808. So you are AT LEAST 500 lbs overweight, not including allowance for passengers, hitch, dogs, or cases of bourbon. The early estimate of 1000 lbs overweight will be a lot closer. You will need a 20K hitch for that trailer as well. Your tires are good but don't impact the payload capacity of your vehicle.

You toilet problem sounds to me like too many "dry" flushes. The tanks in our trailers tend to be shallow height and spread out over a larger area. So, solids may be falling into a 4-6" deep space (height of tank). You will need to insure you use plenty of water with each flush to avoid building up the classic "potty pyramid" immediately under the toilet to tank connections.

It sure sounds like an 'overflow sleeper' disposed of something down the toilet that is obstructing the flow from the toilet to the tank. You might be able to use a hose or something to see if you can dislodge whatever might be in that pipe. This might be easier if you pulled the toilet and whatever is in there really needs to be removed from the top, rather than from in the tank. This is likely going to be a messy job.

I agree with the above. The pipe is a shallow slope so be sure you're flushing with enough water. Might need to clean out an "obstruction" if its just now a problem.

As for the truck, you're lucky to have 2000lb payload left when time to hook up the camper. I'd venture to say its probably not even that much. I'd bet you're overloading on the pin weight by 1000lbs and probably maxed out on towing capacity as well. Common mistake for people to think bags help towing capacity. All they do is level the truck back out. Your axle, springs, wheels, bearings, and tires are feeling the same effects.

The stuff you are seeing could be just stuff sliding off the sides over time.

I'd suggest the following.
1. long flush with internal flush mechanism.
2. complete fill of tank and leave in overnight
3. drain and flush again with RV on tilt towards the drain.

There are services that will clean your tanks.

Everybody is just looking out for you. It's really not about insurance not covering a wreck as much as its what you would have to deal with if you injured someone else. Jacking knifing 10 tons on an interstate due to a single blown out tire or having to suddenly brake or maneuver is deadly for everyone around. I also know its seemingly impossible to admit when your tow vehicle is not big enough or your trailer is too big. Both are very expensive items to just go get something else. To that, all i can say is good luck in your towing. No hard feelings I hope.

Bourbonguy, let’s do this: we all lend a hand in solving this black tank problem, if you actually have one. And THEN we all have a civil discussion about your weight problem, again IF you have one.
I don’t exactly revel in being a badged member of our weight police, but I am one and I believe all could benefit by the discussion.
Give the forum a chance. We’re the smartest bunch of know it alls this side of Detroit. And when we are all done you’ll be glad you listened!

Oh boy !!!!! I take a morning to plow snow and come back to this !!! WHEW...

First off, back to the black tank issue:

When you're "using the trailer for overflow sleeping, did you have the trailer connected to a sewer??? And, when you're camping, do you ALWAYS keep the black tank drain valve closed (except for dumping) ???

The reason I ask this: If you drain the water in each flush with the dump valve open, all the water will "seep out of the tank, leaving just the solids. Due to the physical construction of the black tank, solids "dump" directly under that 3" pipe with very little "splash force". That means the poo piles directly under that pipe. Since it's only 6-7" deep, it doesn't take long for the poo pile to block the pipe (and you have the problem you're facing....

How to fix it? Run lots (did I mention LOTS) of water into the black tank. Fill it "over and over and over" again until you break up that poo pyramid and flush it down the drain.....

How to prevent it from recurring: ALWAYS keep the dump valve closed except when actually dumping the tank. ALWAYS use at least a bowl full of water to follow a "solid dump". NEVER put anything in the toilet that doesn't come from your body (except for easily digestible toilet paper). NEVER use "flushable wipes" and NEVER dispose of feminine sanitary items in the toilet....

The only thing that should ever be in the black tank is LOTS of water, some solid human waste, some human liquid waste and small bits of toilet paper.

I'd guess you've got a "poo pyramid" which is not uncommon in any trailer that's used as "sleeping accommodations for guests" who have no idea what goes into maintaining a black tank.....

Yea, I learned to hard way with guests. Show them how the toilet works and a#2 means a full bowl of water during the flush. I even start a empty black tank with 3 gals of water before any #2 gets in it.

Those numbers are not correct. The pin weight is a part of the actual weight not another weight added it. The trailer has a GVW of 16,500lbs. 20% is 3,300 and 25% is 4,125lbs. Being a F250 the truck is limited to 10,000lbs GVW. I am guessing that hitched up that truck will be around 12K.
