At least that's the way it is for me.
I "amended" your statement: "The new Goodyear ST tire replaces Carlisle and Maxxis" to "The new Goodyear ST tire ADDS to the list"....
Finally, YOUR opinion + MY opinion = 2 opinions
I still haven't seen your facts to support the statement that NO ST tires other than Goodyear should be on the list, which is the basis for the entire rebuttal.

What you point out is the long standing dilemma between ST and LT tires. Because ST are not designed for vehicles carrying people, they are allowed to meet different testing standard and carry higher load ratings. It is not that they are built better.
Take the Michelin XPS Rib or Brdigestone Duravis R250. Few other LRE LT235/85R16 tires come even close to the capabilities for these two tires. They however are tested to the standard for vehicle carrying people and comply to those standards. Note: I have used both. Ribs ran 6.5 years and 40+ miles and sold on CL for 200 bucks, the R250s had 4 years of service when trailer was sold.
These tire debates have been occurring for years across the net. Finally there are a couple mainstream tire manufacturers getting back into the game of producing a ST that is made for more than local service on utility type trailers. It has been a hard fought battle with tire parts spread across America's highways and damage done to thousands of travel trailers.

As you have seen, many answers/opinions to your question. So, I'll offer my opinion based on my experience. My current trailer, which is a 13K GVWR tow behind Toy Hauler had the Trailer Kings on it when I bought it new. I towed it home (approx 375 miles) and of course it was empty....so about 9000 lbs. I basically parked it until I hooked up again and towed it to the Tire Discount store in my town and had a set of the Maxxis 8008 ST tires put on. This trailer is now the third one I've owned with Maxxis tires on them. The other two were enclosed trailers, not campers, but in all three cases, the Maxxis has performed flawlessly. In my opinion, the GY Endurance may end up being a great tire, but it only has about 18 months of history for it....so I went with a known reliable/quality tire. With my setup, I have approx. 650 lbs of reserve capacity per tire.....that's 2600 lbs of reserve capacity total on the tires.

This is where my thoughts are I can’t see the need to get new tires every two years. I figure the LT’s on our 5er are good for at least six years. That would be three sets on Javi’s schedule or $1,800, for me one set at $900. The set that we replaced were the OEM LT’s they were 12 years old and no cracking or bulges.
LTs are just built to a higher standard.

If my trailer had come with LT tire I'd be all over it.. but it didn't.... it came with ST tires with 500 pounds more load rating for each tire than the LT tires... That's a non-starter …
And I looked up the XPS RIBS... $1800 mounted, balanced and tax for 5 of them at my local DT...

Your trailer was certified from it's manufacturer for LT tires. It's what you're supposed to us as replacements.
