Like to hear from 346LBQ owners!

Hello everyone, first post here and have been on TL forum since 2004. I'm sorry this is a tired thread but now I'm living it! We're looking hard at 2013 Mountaineer 346LBQ. My TV is a 2006 Dodge Mega Cab 3500 SRW. I'm currently towing a 31BHS Cedar Creek Silverback. Loaded I'm around 11,000 total (scales) and approximatley 2100 on the hitch. Honestly the truck doesn't work at all towing this combo. I'm getting a little twinge thinking about going to the weight(s) and length of the 346LBQ. The Mega Cab specs are 2700 pin and 13700 total. Inlcuding gear, people and the Pullrite superglide I'm under but I'm not sure about if I'm "under" enough. I'd hate to buy it and then be the tail wagging the dog!

I'm also wondering if anyone knows why Keystone changed the way the storgae doors open? I looked at a 2012 3750 FL and the storage doors opened laterally, specifically where the controls and water connection is located. Now it seems like the 2013 models open straight up and are partially blocked by the front slide! Why!! I'm 6'02 and this seems ridiculous to have to bend over/duck to work in this area.

I'd appreciate any been there done that comments. Thanks!

Door does open up and my pin weight was close to 2600 dry with the 2nd ac. I posted a review of the 346 a few weeks ago.

Looks like they would have opened the storage doors on slide side to the left or right.I am not as tall as you and I still have trouble with my door on the left side just under the bedroom slide it needs to be left or right no up and down

I replied under BlindGuyNAR's post about our 346. We love it. I pull it with an 04 Dodge 3500, but, it's a dually. Frankly, the truck doesn't squat anymore than it did with our Crossroads Cruiser 31LBQ which was in the same weight range as your current 5er. Montana does a good job balancing them so not to put too much weight on the pin. As far as the length, it is long but I take it everywhere we want to go. The one thing I have to watch is dragging the rear bumper which I have done on more than one occasion. I'm slightly nose high and would not have enough clearance between the 5er and truck bed if I level it.
