"Racetrack" ducts on the AC
I have some questions regarding the best setting for my AC units on the Cougar 368MBI. I understand that this particular unit has a "racetrack" duct that is basically an endless loop between the front and rear AC units. So for example, if the rear unit is running and the front unit is not, some of that AC from the rear unit is traveling all the way up the racetrack and coming out the front vents? is there any way to close certain vents (like the middle bedroom and the bathroom) to improve airflow through the open vents?
2nd question: how do y'all set your units for best efficiency during the heat of the day? do you open the dumps and let the air blast straight down, or keep the dumps closed? i'm in North Texas and we have basically been living in a blast furnace for about 3 months solid. temps in the high 90's/low 100's every day. the AC basically runs all day long and doesn't start to cycle on/off until around 2 hours after sunset. should i be dumping the air during the heat of the day and closing the dumps when the sun goes down? is it ok for the units to run all day without shutting off?
