Steering issue on GM trucks

Just had a steering issue fixed this morning on my GMC Sierra 2500HD. It seems that a bolt on the intermediate shaft has a tendency to back out and then the steering becomes sloppy. I noticed this happening on my truck about 2 months ago when I had to hold the wheel to the left about 5 degrees to go straight. I googled steering issues on GM trucks and came up with a lot of people having the issue. Just a heads up for anyone who has a Silverado or Sierra.

What year is your truck? Have not had issues to date - but I have a 3500HD.

My truck is a 2016. My advice is to Google "GM truck steering problems" and see what other people are saying on their experiences. A service bulletin has been issued so dealers are aware of this. Mind you, this is not equivalent to a recall.

Yeah, 2016 they went to electrically assisted steering, and it has had some bugs in it. My 2015 2500 doesn't have that.

In your googling, what years were involved and where do you find the intermediate shaft ?

And don't tell me on the steering assembly !

Thank you ChuckS. That I understand. Another thing to check on.

Have just added that to the service list I keep on all of my rolling things.
