Slide out won't retract/converter issue?

Hello I bought a 2002 keystone Springdale 295bh and am having issue with the slide out. It slides out ok (might stop once or twice) but struggles to retract. It moves a few inches an then stops, wait 30 seconds and then it will move a few more inches and stops again. It takes about 15 minutes to fully retract it. The camper is plugged into external power and I replaced the battery last fall. I had a RV repair shop look at it and they say that the converter is bad. Not sure if I trust them and they want $750+ to replace the converter. My converter is a Magnetek 6332 and I don't seem to see a direct replacement for it. If it is a converter issue can a 35amp converter be used in place of a 32amp without replacing the wiring in the camper? Thank you in advance.
