My fix for our PullRite SuperGlide

As novice 5r's our biggest challenge (after backing) was coupling to our 5th wheel. I tried all of the suggestions by other RVrs and shops. I had a better than not chance of the pin capture release to activate. After dozens of failed hookups I fashioned this manual pin capture release. If the first hookup attempt doesnt work, Wifey pulls the manual release. Works every time.

This manual release is simple to make with a piece of rod and a few washers.

A note for safety considerations. Once the capture block is released, the manual release cannot unlock the pin.

I have the same hitch, and as long as I line up the pin straight into the capture plate opening, and have the pin box at the correct height, I’m usually successful... and your pics didn’t load

With the hitch, make sure you have it adjusted correctly, with some pressure on the centering bolt. That way, the hitch will stay straight better as you back into it. Also, when you spray WD40 on the ways, also spray some on the plate so when you back into it, the pin box will slide in easier. You should be backing into the hitch so the pin box has to lift a little to prevent high hitching. With about 70,000 miles on our hitch, I finally had to replace a broken leveling spring that holds the head level side to side. Other than that, the hitch has been great.
