Following up...problem solved. My nephew brought the trailer to my house. I've had my trailers successfully plugged into a dedicated 15amp plug for years without issue. Using my working cables his trailer came to life without a problem. We started using his stuff and isolated his 50 to 30 amp dog-bone as faulty. Used my dog-bone in it's place and everything worked again.

Now he knows what he needs to eliminate too many adapters in the string and to replace that dog-bone.
