solar ready plug

I have a 2018 cougar 5th wheel with a sola ready Furrion plug. I have a 100 watt portable suitcase panel without charge controller. I want to add a MPPT controller, but I want it near my battery.
What I would like to ask is, can I unhook the cables that run from the solar plug to the battery and attach the cables to a solar charge controller instead Then attach the charge controller to the battery. That way my plug is always ready for when I hook up my panel.

I believe you can. The controller is meant to be installed between the solar panels and the batteries.

Yes, you can.
