Water Pump Randomly Cycles
We have an 07 Keystone Springdale. We are connected to city water and power. Battery is disconnected.
The water tank is empty and we don't ever use it.
The water pump cycles when we use water as well as other times, even throughout the night. The control panel switch doesn't shut it off either.
It is driving us crazy because the pump wakes us up at night. And yes it is definitely the water pump>
PLEASE HELP!!
Thank you in advance.

Ummmmm, turn the pump off since it isn’t needed when connected to city water?
Water is an either/or situation. Water in the tank and no city water, use the pump. Connected to city water, pump is pointless since city water supply taps into the system AFTER the pump.
Even with the batteries disconnected, all of the 12v systems in the trailer still need power so your converter is supplying juice to the lights, refrigerator controls, water heater controls, furnace, operating tongue jack, slide(s), etc. This is a bad thing because the converter is not designed to do this. Batteries are required to absorb the surge loads these items draw and you can easily overload or burn out your converter if you don’t reconnect to the batteries soon.

Thanks for the tip about the batteries.
We can't shut off the pump. Panel switch doesn't shut it off and breaker box doesn't seem to have a breaker for the pump. I don't know where else to shut it off. It makes no sense.

Water pump is 12V so there won’t be a breaker for it. If you can locate the pump, you can disconnect one of the wires and it won’t operate.
You should try to figure out why it won’t shut off with the switch.

Bad switch? Try accessing the on-off switch and unplug the wires there. See what happens.

Theory - long shot, but a theory. I've seen a bad switch like this before in a vehicle.
Bad switch with an intermittent connection inside the switch. When something in the trailer triggers the intermittent connection to make contact (bouncing, vibrations, movement, etc.), the pump runs until it senses the pressure it's designed to shut off at. That pressure slowly decreases and the next time the switch is moved/vibrated/jiggled just right, the circuit is completed and the pump runs again until that pressure is reached. This repeats itself.

The pump has to have over-current protection; it is being fed from one of the 12V circuits in your power center. Check the fuses along the side of the power center and see if there is a dedicated fuse for the water pump - if so, pull the fuse.
I agree with the others, however, that killing the power to the pump should be a "temporary" fix. You really should figure out why this is happening because some day you may need/want that pump and it would be good to have it working properly. JMHO

Thanks for all of the input - Befuddles the mind
It is kind of crazy how it all works. Our camper is now permanently set up in a camp ground on shore power and water (about 2 years now) It's not logical to me that the pump should be running at all since we are not using tank water. We did buy the camper used so who is to say what was done to it before we had it.
Haunted pump?? Haha.
We will first try to pull a fuse but I am not so sure there is a dedicated fuse ( I think we looked). Next year when it warms up we will tear into it a bit more to try to fix it.
Thanks for all of the input
