Finally, a 3180RE slide receptacle

For all those 3180RE owners who have complained they have no receptacle by the little table in the slide with the rockers....here ya go!

I used an oversized box, just because 1, its hidden behind the rocker, 2, in case "Future needs" arise....oh yeah and 3...It's what I had in the shed

I originally planned on all this "Razzmatazz" to use "this" and do it "that way" but arrived on a simpler solution. I didn't have the cool precoiled so cord (jcord) for the wiring, so I opted for what I had in the shed, which is standard heavy duty sheathed 12/3 SO cord. I also, instead of hardwiring to the TV receptacle, decided to use a plug, so I can disconnect it quickly if necessary...ya never know!
When retracting slide, you'll see the cable drops into a loop, I simply tuck it behind the skirting. It will automatically drop out when extending the slide out again. I'll eventually attach a springed rope, or good bungee to keep upward tension making it fully automatically stowable.

Nice work ... you will find it very helpful. Keystone uses a long spring to take up the slack on the cord when slide is retracted. (just a suggestion)

I was looking through my shed of goodies, but only have ultra-tension springs for some commercial doors, and a few for an old trampoline but they are too tightly wound as well. Guess I'll have to break down and buy one eh?

Thanks for the suggestion hankpage! ...and the compliment!

spring

Maybe check on semi-trailer dealer/repair places. They use a similar spring holding up air hoses underneath for the sliding rear axles.

Did you just go straight down through the floor and underbelly?

Yes and no. I drilled a small hole in the outside furthest corner of the slide, which once the slide is put in, falls in the approx 3" void before the outside slide wall meets the chassis and underbelly. Here is my best text/gfx representation ...once the slide is stowed inward. Also, I caulked all holes no matter how small, top and bottom to seal.

SIDEVIEW vantage point:

________.l . <- The underlined period is the drilled hole ____ is the slide floor.
_______T ....<- The underlined T is the chassis beginning and
..................._____ is the underbelly

the area I drilled up into the cabinet by the TV has an area outside the main chassis, that is above the underbelly and is exposed. I chose to drill there and run the cable through the cabinet instead to keep from going through the underbelly as well as having tappable wire for another recep later in the cabinetry...possibly for lighting in the future.
