Under seal on slideout

I have a Keystone 277RL that I had a leak and had to pull out the carpet in the bedroom. The bed is on the slideout. I have all the carpet removed except for under the head of the bed where I cannot get to the staples. My question is if I remove the seal under the bed slide would I be able to see the edge of the carpet ?
If so I could use a stiff putty knife to shear off the staples and pull out the remaining carpet
