Water in compartment
I just took delivery of a 2011 230BHS. With all the hard rain we have had in Illinois lately I noticed water in one of my exterior compartments. After checking the other compartment doors they were all shut and locked but they felt loose. like the weather stripping is not fully compressed.
I know the unit is still under warranty but my dealer is 2 hours away. Are they going to change the weather stripping or is it something I can do myself?
Thanks in advance for the help!

If I were you, I would remove the old stripping and install it myself -- using a better grade of weather stripping. By the time you drove to the dealer and back -- you can buy yourself a spare roll - or two.
It's an easy fix.

On my 2011 Laredo, I also had water seepage into my storage compartment. I determined it entered via the framing on the storage door. (Dripped out of the slam type locking mechanism) Sealed the frame on the compartment door, problem solved.

Festus2 & mdtandem,
Thanks for the info!
I was going to change the weather stripping my self but someone told me I may have warranty issues if I do. To me it's like my Harley or anything else you value. Do it yourself so you know its right!
I never thought of a leak around the door molding it's self. I am going to do both just to make sure I elimate the possibilities.
Thanks again for the input.

I didn't have a leak in my rear garage but did see places in the corners and the splice for the seal and I took pics of this and sent them to CW in Indianapolis and they sent me a new seal for the entire door. I just replaced it myself and they were fine with it. I only replaced the bottom half so I still have some left. Just make sure to clean the old seal off well before putting the new one on.

If you are going to do it yourself, make sure you contact Keystone first and tell them the whole story. If for some reason the water is coming in from somewhere else and a year down the road you find water damage, then you are SOL. It is always best to cover your kiester on these issues. Just my two cents worth...

Mine leaked too, it looks like it comes in thru the seam in the aluminum trim that goes around the door. The seam is at the top of the door and probably needs some sealant.

Same thing happened here. The water was comming in around the edge of the door and the skin of the door. Added a bead of caulk around the door and no more water in the compartment.

Water in compartment
Hello glide driver,
as another rv'er already said, call keystone and tell them your water issue.sometimes there are understanding, but it's a good idea
to keep a log of who you talked to there.get them to send you an
email of what they told you. Little things can turn bad sometimes.
Keep a good log on your unit, also helps for resale value.i've had
quite a bit of warranty work done at private dealers, make a list
and double check everything.
Hope everyones advice helped you.

Don't know about your setup, but my forward compartment doors sit right below the end of the roof gutter...... if the trailer sits just right, or wrong, there's a Niagra Falls that comes down the side and the door can't handle it. So, just a degree or so of hitch up, and voila, the river goes aft and clears everything with a nice arc.
