Adding a trailer hitch

I would like to add a receiver hitch and bumper to my 2014 3155 Montana 5th wheel. I have looked at the 2015 models and they now have them. I would like to possibly tow a small vehicle and or use it for the small Honda generators. The ones I have seen are welded to the frame with a single support spanning the chassis with the receiver in the middle. I would mount mine the same way only with a double support spanning the chassis welded to the frame and would like a double receiver hitch to prevent sagging and with a removable bumper with a receiver welded to it. Is my frame stout enough to handle something like this.

Seems like about everyone will say that it isn't a good idea unless you are planning on beefing up the existing bumper. My 14 summerland came with a spare tire mount on the rear bumper and even that I am thinking about reinforcing..

I wouldn't weld a hitch to the frame. I was told that bolting the hitch to the frame is better. Welds can crack and fail even good welds don't last forever with all the jerking that happens while towing. Even our 5th wheel hitches are bolted to the truck. Use grade 8 bolts 1/2 inch in diameter or greater. I would use 3 on each side.

I have been welding for 20 years.I have put many hitches on campers including my own. I pull a 21' boat behind my camper. When I build my hitches I take factory bumper off and install a thicker 4x4 piece of square tubing that I weld on 2x4 tubing to weld to the frame and install a 2x2 cross support. Welds are stronger than the metal u are welding to
