quick question - Tail Light Color Code

I cannot find one anywhere. I have a 2008 Everest with a 3 wire stop/turn/tail. BUT, they are White Green and Black. I cannot find any wiring for trailer that mentions those 3.

I have LED that Im changing to that are Red, white and Green.

So which one goes where?

On my "old style LED tail/brake lights" red is stop, green is tail light and white is ground. That DOES NOT mean that your "newer style LED fixtures are wired using the same color code.

You can use a jumper on your 12 volt battery, touch the white to ground and see which of the other two is the brightest, that will be the brake connection and the dimmer one will be the tail light connection.

A VOM should tell you what you need to know. Hopefully there was something with you LED fixture that tells you what wire feeds what.

Had a VOM and hooked trailer up and turned on flashers. Found color code I needed.

The LEDs were Red, black, white

White went to White
Red went to black
Black went to green.

Typed this in hopes it helps someone else.

BTW, I ordered another set, when they come in my back ups are going to change to Stop/Turn/tail. will post pics when they are done.

It is a night and day difference from incandescent lights.

It would be helpful if you typed in the make and model of those lights. What worked for those lights may not work for a different brand.

The old or the new. Or both ?

The new I got from Amazon and seemed to have good ratings.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071S2SWN3...roduct_details

The Old were original to the 2008 Keystone Everest I have

Ill see if I can find them and if there is a MFG on it.

EDIT: Looked at the old lights, there is 0 stamping on them, they are just plain incandescent flange mounts.

Did the same on my last 5er, didn't ever plan to back in after dark & not sure those backup lights would've helped much anyway.
