Brake controller for 2013 RAM 1500?

My wife and I are picking up our Bullet 2200bh in 2 weeks. My truck has tow/haul but no brake controller. I've watched a lot of brake controller install videos on Youtube and it seems fairly straight forward. My question to the forum is what is a reasonably priced, dependable brake controller that you folks have experience with? I searched the forums a little and found a lot of references to Tekonsha controllers. I understand you get what you pay for and my budget is $200-$300. Any advice is much appreciated!

I’ve used the Tekonsha P3 first in my Highlander and now in my 2013 Ram 2500. Very easy install, just had to purchase a harness.

I installed the Ram integrated controller. I like it a lot...had to pay a bit to get it turned on at the dealer but overall wasn't that bad of a cost.

I have the Tekonsha P2, works great. Either the P2 or the P3 will work great for you. Their function is basically the same and provide much smoother braking when properly adjusted. With the proper adapter for your truck it's pretty much plug and play.

I think you will find Tekonsha products are probably the most popular...maybe by far, of the aftermarket controllers. I've owned a Primus IQ and a P3 and would recommend either of them....and they fit in your budget.
