Bed storage lid will not close

I lifted the storage lid under my queen bed and now the assist "shocks ??? will not allow it to close. How do these things work?

Mine are very stiff. You may just need to lean on it a bit.

They are high pressure gas charged. is it poss that one may be bent? Push down on each corner and watch each strut if one moves a bit and the otherone does not replace the one that does not move. but sometimes they need a good shove!

When I push down on mine, I push down with a bit of body English toward myself, if that makes any sense. They do not seem to come down very easy in a perpendicular motion.

Thanks, I will give it a try

I have bent, broke, over torqued so many things before i wasn't about to force the issue since I have not even taken the trailer out yet.
