Is this child abuse?

How to grease your landing gear-
Step 1- find a 9 year old
Step 2- convince DW that it is ok and she will love it
Step 3- remove items from gas bay
Step 4- shove 9 year old, grease gun and light into bay
Step 5- reassure DW
Step 6- coach on grease gun operation
Step 7- job done? Reverse process and reassure wife
Step 8- hose down 9 year old in yard to remove road grime
Step 9- hide from DW for 24 hours

Good parenting skills, right?

Looks to me like you have the proper safety measure in place. It appears that you notified the proper Osha personal to watch your every move. I say you get points for aply the proper supervision methods.

Everything looked okay to me but I thought there should have been a safety line around the person in the confined space and the hatch should have been locked or tagged out.

PS: Did Mama ever catch up with you yet.

Not to mention the Father / Daughter bonding! In this enlightened age of gender equality you have made great strides in teaching your daughter basic maintenance techniques!

Road grime? Does that area get nasty, it looks like it's sealed off?

It's pseudo sealed. There was a lot of dust and debris from assembly and some "Goo".

Being a firefighter and paramedic, I employed the canary method of testing the air..., the ankle was my safety and mommy finally found the humor!

Not so much child abuse but fifth wheel abuse---aren't you supposed to use silicone spray (not grease) on landing gear?

Nope...zerk fittings for the gears at the top of mine. Required by manufacturer.

Ok so long as someone has confined space training. Just kidding. Your wife doesn't look too convinced about the whole thing though.

I like how DW is literally looking the other way. Or maybe she's just on the lookout for CPS.
