50 AMP to 30 AMP

On our recent travels we notice most of the 30 amp plugs were loose or worn and it put some ark marks on my surge protector plug.

My question is can I plug my 30 amp TT into a 50 amp outlet (with a 50 to 30 dog bone of course)?

If I'm in a site with a 50A receptacle I use a 50A to 30A dogbone for the same reason. The 30A pedestals get used more and first time campers tend not to turn the breaker off before and after plugging in causing it to arc.

That's a great idea. I usually plug/unplug my cord at the pedestal several times before throwing the breaker, just to make sure I'm getting a cleaner connection between the plug and receptacle surfaces. I think I'll get an adapter.
