Range Hood-Light Switch but no light

My 2011 Cougar 318SAB has a range hood light switch, but there is no light under the hood. Guess they used a generic hood and cheaped out on the light.

Range hood light

My 318SAB has a light under the hood. Are you sure the bulb is not burned out or missing.

I have to take another look, but on my initial look, I didn't see a socket for a bulb. Does yours have a cover over the bulb area?

NOPE-No socket/light/bulb/cover

I just took a close look under my range hood.
There is absolutely nothing related to a light under there.

OK.... I called my dealer. They happily said they would send me whatever I needed.

THEN...... Dumb Phil, just for the heck of it, took off what I thought was a metal plate in front of the fan filter. It wasn't metal. It was translucent plastic. And what did I find under it? A light bulb that just needed pushing in a little and Voila!! It worked. Called back my dealer telling them to cancel my request.

Talk about DUMB!! I vote that honor to me today..........

We've all done stuff like that, we'll laugh with you today and you can laugh at us tomorrow. You know, you didn't have to tell on yourself, but thanks for sharing.
