2011 Alpine 3450

We've been looking at a 20ll Alpine 3450 but the salesman doesn't seem to know anything about the rig.
I'm trying to figure out the advantage of having two separate lines for black water and grey water. Just more work putting hose on one, emptying, then shlepping the hose to the other line, attaching and emptying. Anyone know why they have it this way? Also we have a 1999 Ford F-350 and have not had any problems towing our Carriage Cameo 34CK3. Do we need a bigger truck? We really love this rig but we'd rather not have to buy a new truck.

I have a 2010 3500RE Alpine and I am confused as to your comment about two seperate drain lines. My unit has a similar floor plan and we have only one discharge point. Our unit has two gray water tanks and one black water tank. All tanks discharge through the same discharge point. The controls to dump the tanks are located in the water works area. I agree if you have two discharges that it would be an issue. The only solution would be to purchase a Y adapter and have two short sections connect into one main discharge line. Not a major deal breaker in my book but something to think about.

I also have a F350 and according to the literature for a 2010 F350 DRW 4X4 diesel the maximum 5th wheel rating is 17,300 pounds. You can check with Ford to get the rating for your specific vehicle but you should be around the same rating with similar options. The maximum trailer weight for your unit according to the Keystone web site is 15,500 pounds so you should be OK, but check with Ford to be sure.

I have a 2010 3450.the only thing I can think of is a problem with routing the pipes. I put a discount with a water hose on kitchen gray over to sewer drop, It's easyer to handle.
I have an 05 f 350 it does a great job.

I have a 2011 Keystone Alpine 3500 RE and it has one black tank and two grey tanks. There is however only one connection for the discharge hose. Earlier models did have a swing away contraption that was discontinued as it simply did not appear to work very well.

We have a 2011 3450RL with one black and two grey tanks. The black and one grey (bathroom) are connected together into one discharge pipe and are labeled correctly. It seems that the kitchen grey tank is obviously under the kitchen area yet I have no valve to open it. It is all held back by the cap on the end of the pipe. We were out this weekend and the neighbor camper came over and said we had a serious leak from a pipe near the wheels (kitchen grey tank drain pipe) and I noticed that the cap was broken. How do I close this grey tank so that it does not just spill out? Should it not have a valve like the other two tanks?

Just put a gate valve on the end that way you can open and close it.

We also have a 3450RL. If you will look under the side wall about 3ft back from the drain you will see a shutoff valve on the frame.

Thanks Smitty, the ground was covered in snow and ice, and dish water so I didnt crawl under too far. I just saw a pipe coming out from the tank area but no shutoff. I'll look again the next time we head out as its in storage again until we go camping.
