Other items to consider (if you haven't included them already):

1) ceramic space heater(s)
2) gas and gas can for portable generator
3) electric pipe heater cable/wrap for water hose at campground
4) extra HD extension cord to plug in truck diesel block heater (20A)

Make sure your propane tanks are full.

I would add a shovel, jumper cables, tow chain or strap, tarp to lye on in the slush (chain installation) and a bag of sand? (kitty litter is probably lighter and won't freeze like moist sand - but I've never tried it)

Yosemitebob -

Maybe I missed this in one of your other posts ---- Will you be staying at a private or public campground? Many campgrounds located in the interior of WA will likely have their water shut off for the winter and the only water that might be available is that found in the washrooms or a single, central potable water faucet.

If you don't have access to city water, then taking along an electric hose heater/cable may not be necessary.

Actually I'm staying in my daughters backyard in Pasco, WA. Will only fill water as needed so I won't be hooked up continually except for electric, so yes I don't need a electric hose heater. A never lay down to put on my chains, but a tarp is not a bad idea anyway, shovel, I always have. Jumper cables to me are not vital and mine weigh considerable as I make them out of #2 welding cable 20' long. I'll call triple A.

I would suggest keeping a can/bottle of spray deicer around in case your locks freeze. They are a bit more delicate and temperamental than a normal house lock!!! You don't want to find yourself locked out!

Never heard of it I guess I'll have to wait until I get up north, don't freeze much down here in So Ca. 🎅

We can buy it here at most name brand parts stores like autozone or walmart. It's usually not available online and has to be bought in the store here.

The lock deicer is something you really want. I have found this out the hard way and not so much as locked out but we were locked in. Thank god for the dw hair dryer lol.

Well I see "airforceret" is from Indiana, a little far for me to go, and a bit out of the way and I don't know where "Yeti" is located, so maybe someone can tell me where I might get this product? I assume in Oregon and/or Washington, but to make things easier, where?

You might want to try O'Reilys (sp??), or some other auto parts supply store. Ace Hardware is also worth a look see. Look for a small, squirt-size plastic bottle of "lock de-icer".

Yosemitebob, Howdy;

You might also want to carry a rubber mallet to thump around the door
of your tow vehicle when it gets frozen shut. Hint ... don't leave it
inside your truck ... All the lock de-icer won't help if you can't
open the door once you get it un-locked.

I guess there isn't much demand for lock de-icer in Southern California.

Check ODOT web site for road conditions. I 84 this week is getting windy and cold. No ice that I have heard on TV yet. If you need to stay out of bad conditions in the gorge area, there are places public and private around Portland out of the high winds. The hold the key to the cig lighter to warm it up has also worked, when you forget de icer.
