Hot water tank

How do I ensure I have water in the hot water tank before turning it on? Especially after de-winterizing? Thanks!

Make sure the bypass is in the normal position. Open a hot faucet and turn on your water supply. This should purge the air out of the lines and tank through the faucet that you opened. Once you have a good flow of water you should be all set. Keep in mind it takes some time because your water heater is either 6 or 10 gallons, so think how long it takes to fill buckets with a half inch hose.
