Question Bedroom slide slowly comes out on its own. HELP!!!!

Hello Friends,
Our 2006 Keystone Montana Big Sky has a slide issue. The upstairs bedroom slide keeps slowly creeping out after we have snugged it back in. Why does it do this? We would like to fix it soo it will stay in. We are new to this 5th wheel, just got it last year. Please if anyone knows the answer to this we would greatly appreciate your help.
Thankyou soo very much,
Ross and Nicole Larson

If this is a hydraulic slide out then you can try this and see if it corrects the issue.. usually it will...

cycle the slide out in and out about 3 to 5 times... be sure to let the hydraulic pump motor cool down after a cycle for a minute or so

THis will purge any air in the slide out line and hyd cylinder and should let the slide stay closed ( hydraulic slides are kept extended and retracted via hyd pressure

If the slide still creeps out after this and you have no visible hyd leak then that slide out cylinder is bypassing internally and will need replacing..

There is a simple test that can be done to verify if the cylinder is or isn't bypassing fluid and can be done by you provided you have some mechanical skills

Chuck is there a valve on HYD slide systems that can be shut off to isolate that slide when in the stored position? Would that help till the cylinder could be replaced?

What is the test to perform please, we are very mechanically inclined and work on our own vehicles all the time.

Most hydraulic driven slide out systems have an IRC panel ( individual room control) .. the Alpine and Montanas with hydraulic slides have this..

This is simply individual flow control manual open/close valves so that the OP can selectively open/close a specific hydraulic slide out.. It just shuts off the fluid flow..

There is also ONE Hydac valve on the Lippert hydraulic slide sytem that controls fluid flow be electrically opening or closing the valve to allow fluid to flow to ALL hydraulic slide cylinders...

in the last 8 years I have had my BR slide out creep open TWICE while sitting stored here at the house during the winter months.. The slide crept open about 3 inches or so

Simply cycling the slide in and out a few cycles corrected my issue... Air in system most likely plus sitting for four months..

I have never had any of the 3 hyd slide outs creep opeing during towing..
