Mask on Federal Grounds

While visiting Federal Recreation Areas does the new law signed today require mask to be worn while outside?

Until we know exactly how the order was written let's keep things civil.

Asking nicely for folks to not have a little light hearted humor sounds very biased.

Found this thread a little late looks like.

Here's the mandate;

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-...-mask-wearing/

You might need to copy/paste. Lots of verbage. It, and the presentations for it, are conflicting. The intent is to stop the spread by encouraging social distancing and mask usage when around others. Wearing a mask in a forest does not fit that....but that is not what the directive says either.

I'm in a national recreation area every single day - I will not be wearing a mask. Me, DW nor puppy cannot get/give covid to the long leaf pines, oaks or cypress trees nor to the few humans we see at 75-100yds. And since I know several of the federal game/fish and park folks, I'm 100% positive not anyone is going to say a word to us. Now, in a building with other folks in a city? I'll have a mask on and social distance with or without a mandate.

Hank, way too early with this remark.

I guess I am a little biased. If trying to see that folks here follow the rules is biased ... then I am. Belittling other members (light hearted humor at the expense of other members as you call it) and political statements are against the rules, as you well know.

So, as I said before. Let's wait until the entire order is published before we get excited. Many Federal rec areas have educational buildings and restrooms where this may apply. The mask while using pit toilets might even be to your advantage.

Let's all travel safely and keep this forum about RVs and not politics, Hank

That document is typical government talk and as clear as mud.
My ASSUMPTION would be when in buildings and in areas with close proximity to others a mask would be required, and not so in open areas away from others.

Seems that there is a "fear of the unknown" or a "frustration with what might be" all wrapped up in one thread where people are discussing a very volatile subject...

The executive order states, in one part: "Heads of agencies may make categorical or case-by-case exceptions"

It's obvious to me that what applies to a "federal office building" will be different than what applies to a federal Post Office lobby and that will be different than an isolated walking trail in Yellowstone or a snack bar or dining area at the Grand Canyon and both of those will be different than the viewing area at Mount Rushmore....

In other words, each facility, each National Park or National Recreational Area will likely have rules applicable to THEIR specific needs....

Since there's no "blanket or standardized exposure" there's not going to be a "blanket or standardized rule".

Expect changes, but wait for the implementation to occur and expect each facility to tailor the requirements to their specific needs....

No need for anyone to "get upset about something that hasn't been finalized"......

To re-emphasize Hank's comment: "Belittling other members (light hearted humor at the expense of other members as you call it) and political statements are against the rules" .....

The post of mine that you deleted made fun of no members and is a post I would have put up six months ago if the topic came up. So politics had no bearing on it. I would really like to say that … can …………………… .

One more time....... Unless the oceanfront property you are trying to sell is zoned for RV use your comment was not appropriate.
