Slide out topper mounting

Mounting slide out toppers?
2016 Cougar 303RLS

Each slide out has a water drain gutter above it mounted on the RV side above the slide out.

Where should the slide out topper mount to the RV side wall?
Remove the gutter and mount the topper at that point?
Mount the topper above the side wall gutter?
Mount the topper below the side wall gutter?
Should the side wall gutter be re-installed or just leave it off?

If removing the gutter and installing the rail in its place gives you the proper clearance, that is the way I would do it. If the drip rail sits to low then just mount the rail above it. If you do mount it above the drip rail, leave it in place as it is sealed and you would have a whole bunch of screw holes in the sidewall to deal with.

Agree with Chuckster. I put on 4 covers and had to locate one above the drip rail. Wish I would have done them all that way. Leave the rail
