Where are the GFI outlets?

I have a Montana 3930 FB and I can’t find the GFI outlet for the Kitchen. All my outlets in the kitchen and living room are out. There is a GFI outlet in the half bath, but it is not tripped. All the outlets in the bedroom and bathroom work.

Thank you for any help that you can offer.

I have no idea, but I would look under the counter.

The GFCI outlets are on their own breaker; did you open your converter and push the GFCI breaker all the way down and then push back up. They sometimes don't look like they are tripped when they actually are.

That did the trick for the outlets that are marked GFI protected, however the other plugs inside the kitchen and living area are still not working, but they are on the same double pole breaker as the GFI. Since that is a double pole breaker with 15 A on one side and 20 A on the other, is it possible that the other half of that breaker that is non-GFI outlets may have blown and needs to be replaced?

Is there a way to pull out that breaker and test it with and electrical meter for continuity?

I think I use the wrong terminology for what I thought was a double pole breaker, but I think they call it a tandem breaker that has two different circuits on one breaker.

If your comfortable with a Volt/Ohm meter and working around live AC circuits, you can easily test for voltage at the breaker. Negative lead to ground bar, positive to the black lead at the breaker

I assume the breaker itself needs to be in the on position, correct? Nothing ventured, nothing gained, so I will just be very careful.

That is correct. If the breaker is turned to the off position, no positive voltage will be on the black wire. The white wire from the breaker is tied to that bar in the converter with all the others. Put your meter on AC and in a scale range where it can read the 117V you should be seeing. Careful where you touch things.

I was very excited at the prospect that my problem might lie with a bad circuit breaker, but no such luck. I had 124+ volts going to all the breakers. That I could’ve fixed with confidence. Please keep the ideas coming, as I am happy to check on anything that you guys might come up with.

Still sounds like a GFCI tripped. Look outside, in the storage compartment, or outside behind the fridge.

X2. I suspect you have another GFCI outlet that is tripped. They can be in unsuspected places.

GFCI outlets are located so that the unwitting are unlikely to stumble on them. Some are on the outside AC receptacle. It would be cruel to put one on the refrigerator outlet.

Also check the gfi outlets that are working. They “daisy chain” from one outlet to another so the outlet can work but if a wire pulls off the other side, the load side then everything down stream will be dead.

As i think about this i think we may be chasing tbe wrong solution. Ive never known the fridge to be on a GFCI circuit (although I could be wrong about that.) I think you may have a break in a circuit somewhere. You may have to start pulling outlets after verifying you have power coming out of the outlets.

Be sure to check the wiring diagram so you check the outlets in sequence.

Oh, that's right - there are no wiring diagrams!

All my kitchen outlets were put. Found out all kitchen and outside outlet as well as bathroom outlet are all wired to one giving outlet instead of having individual gfci outlets. Mine was located in bathroom. Hit test button to make it pop and reset it. All outlets now work
