Ahh, the old Furrion Range
I have a Furrion range, never used the oven since I purchased it a year ago. Tried to light it today. No go. Can get the pilot to light...randomly, but it will not ignite the burner. Guessing it may be the thermocouple. To be checked tomorrow. It gets better. After removing the range top, I found a red wire, bare end and a red wire in a termination crimp. The wire in the crimp has 12 volts all the time. The loose red wire was originally crimped in with the 12 volt wire at the terminal end. I cut the terminal end to verify that the bare wire was indeed originally in there and it was. I put the two red wires together and the oven knob led lit up red. All of the burner knobs light up red now when the burners are in use as I am assuming they are supposed to do. Here is the catch. The oven light stays red all the time now. Anyone else have that issue or am I now in search of a 12 volt short somewhere? Also, this all may have some bearing on the oven not lighting through the oven gas valve. All this and it's no longer under warranty. We should have used it I suppose but I 99.9% of the time grill. I digress. I have concerns on the continuous light. Yes, the light switch is centered in the off position. Furrion G3A2 range.

Just speculation, but during the PDI before you bought the trailer, is it possible that the "red oven light was always on" and rather than repair it or replace the range/oven combination, the service tech just pulled that red wire and disabled all the "knob lights" to push the trailer out the door to a new owner who didn't know any better ?????
Stranger things have happened, but with what you described, my bet would be on the "shortcut during PDI"....
Problem is: How do you prove or dis-prove it ???

Oh I absolutely told my wife that very scenario. When I checked the wire next to the terminal fitting, there would have not been enough strain to break the wire as it was. But yeah, how do you prove that one?

As a rule of thumb, try out everything before signing off on the unit and use the heck out of it the first month or two. I know it's 20/20 hindsight now but maybe a useful example for other new or repeate buyers.

Just want to do a follow up on this awesome experience. As I said, the range worked fine in our travels over the first year and since we 99% of the time grill, we never once attempted to use the oven. When we finally did, epic Fail. Could not get the pilot lit. Lighting that we never knew existed on the range didn't work (we were never shown that feature at the dealer during the walk through...why will be discussed later). So after zero replies to several attempts to get a few answers, I tore into that tiny box with a vengeance. What I found:
The red wire to the lights had been yanked out of the terminal fitting. The blue wire to the lights had been cut and attempted to be repaired by a non issue crimp fitting that didn't work. The Oven knob had been replaced by the wrong knob that was meant for a range without lighting, hence the yanked red wire. Once I hooked that back up, the red lights worked when the knobs were in the on position. However, the oven light stayed on red continuously. Reason for yank I'm sure. After examining the knob and determining it was the wrong one (no magnet on back to let the light know it wasn't in use) I also determined why I couldn't get the pilot lit. The wrong knob wasn't long enough to depress the oven gas valve to enable gas to the pilot. This was of course after I removed and cleaned the pilot and still no luck. Oh, and the light wiring harness at the oven valve bracket assembly was pinched and almost severed due to improper routing. Fun times.
What I did:
Ordered a new light wire harness. Ordered the correct oven knob with the magnet. Pulled the oven control panel front. removed all knobs, lights and escutcheons. Modified the oven gas control bracket to accept the wire harness. Rewired the entire top of the oven. Results are all lights function as intended. Oven pilot lights and oven burner ignites. All is good.
Now I bought this Cougar brand new in 2023 from the dealer. My thinking is, since the oven knob is not the right one...careful examination and you can even see they aren't even the same color or finish, someone robbed my oven knob to fix someone else's Furrion stove. Couldn't get the light off because the wrong knob with no magnet was ordered to replace it. Then got cut happy until the lights went out. Can't prove it, but I'd sure drop a hefty bet on it. Hopefully if someone else needs to solve this riddle, it'll be a bit easier.

Thanks for following up. It sure makes you sad and mad that they would do that but I figure you're right. My dealership has gone to get a part of a new trailer sitting on the lot twice for me and I've seen others sitting on the side at one dealership that I was told had been used to provide parts for other trailers. You would think (at least I always did) the did that to expedite the repair and then ordered the proper part to replace on the unsold unit. I can't fathom why a dealer, or tech, would jury rig something like they did to yours....but I know they do it and people have bought them. Glad you got it all sorted out and fixed.

The final fix. Ordered 2 knobs. One from Furrion themselves. I talked to a tech who assured me the knob (part number included) was for the Furrion 2 in 1 oven. Got it. It was a knob with the Furrion F on the front, no other markings (no ignite symbol, no temperature markings). It also had no magnet that is used to open the switch to the red light when gas is turned on. FAIL. Ordered one from ETrailer. This knob came with the led light circuit board as well. It came as promised, however the knob would not activate the fuel on light when the knob was in the on position due to the mounting holes being in a different location than my oven control.
Here's the skinny. I took the original knob I had. Extended the slip on portion so it was long enough to push in the gas on for the oven. Cut the magnet from the ETrailer knob and glued it in the proper space on the back of the original knob and viola. It works. Maybe I should apply for an RV tech job...I DON'T THINK SO. It's all good people. Just keep smiling and it'll work out eventually.

^^^^LOL. Nah, that's part of being an RV owner. And, getting creative and making do with the "stuff" you have is a big plus!

Ya gotta love it when "somebody jury-rigs a new component" and then the unsuspecting buyer gets caught in the middle when things go south.... I'm glad you got things working properly, but you should NEVER have gone through the hassles...
I think I'd be taking all those old parts to the dealership and giving them to the OWNER (not his assistant) with a stern comment that what he's now holding is the reason why you'll buy your next trailer from a dealership with a reliable service department and if he wants to be considered at the next purchase, he needs to fix his service department's shortfalls........
