I agree there has to be a way. I won't be able to fool with it for a couple of weeks as I will be traveling on business... When it goes into this mode, the screen on the unit as well as the remote is dark/inactive. Once I activated it (energizing my breaker panel) then I tested turning it off with the button at the unit and on/off at the remote control unit. Both of these went dark after a few seconds. (I had turned off the breaker in my panel so there was no 120v coming in)
When turning them back on, the panel would light up and then go into "inverter mode" (generating AC). Turning them back off and then putting the breaker back on it would go into "charging mode" / bulk mode and then after a 10 sec or so realize the batteries are fully charged and change modes. (whatever they call the maintenance modes)
