Another Jack Question

Sorry for posting another jacking question, but I have searched and not found a lot of good answers. The first couple of people respond, but then it gets into something totally different.

I would like to jack up my Passport 199ml TT to grease the wheel bearings. The manual says to jack on the frame. Here is the problem:

On one" side, the propane pipe runs the length of the frame on the underside, so no jacking there anywhere.

I have read where people jack on the axle by the U-bolts. Is that the only other alternative.

I have also seen where people say you can jack under the equalizer between the leaf springs. Is that an acceptable alternative.

I know Dexter says don't jack on anything that is a part of their suspension. I also know not to jack in the middle of the axle.

I am mostly interested in the two options -- U-bolt and/or equalizer.

Thanks!

Never on the equalizer. If the frame isn’t an option then under the axle between the U bolts holding the spring plate.

You could do it one wheel at a time this way, but you do need to stay hitched to the tow vehicle. But, it's extremely safe and doesn't risk any damage by putting a jack in the wrong place. And no danger of a jack stand failing and crashing the trailer to the ground either.

I have tried ramps and Trailer Aids, but because the tandem axle is a spread design, the ramp/TA will not get the other tire off the ground. Thanks anyway.

Make a taller ramp. If you notice my ramp, I started with a chunk of wood that I thought would lift the other tire high enough. Nope, it didn't. I added another layer on top and actually screwed it in secure. Nope, not high enough. I then added the boards on the bottom. They are not screwed on, just extra lift. It finally got high enough to left the other tire off the ground.

With those tandem axles, the second tire really drops. But, eventually one tire will raise high enough to lift the other completely off the ground. I got the idea from the Trailer Aid concept, but I knew TA would never raise high enough. Good old fashioned stacks of lumber still cannot be beat.

Turned out, it worked at 8.5 inches high:

In order to get more clearance under the U-bolts for the jack when the tire is flat, does anyone see a serious problem with pulling the wheel with the flat tire onto blocks to gain that clearance?
