Yeah.. but if I had one that I left outside while I went to town or fishing I'd be worried that it wouldn't be there when I got back.. Bolted to the roof would make me more comfortable.

True. But, we have constant 24 hr security here. Camp guys live on the site. All 3 of them.

I use the King One Pro for my DTV. Set it out and let it find the signal. If I leave and don’t want it sitting out, real easy to unhook the cable and put it in the pass through or inside the door. I don’t like a roof mount because I camp I wooded areas a lot and don’t want to worry about positioning the RV for satellite signal. Easier to set the dome where I need it

Thats Waco and the surrounding areas. I guess. Here, nah, these people are too slow to steal. Plus, I do have cameras around the site on the Outback.

Ok, you've piqued my interest now, how are you doing that? I have Netflix and Prime on my phone.

On the app there is a download button on the bottom right. Then i use a android to hdmi cord and hook up to the tv. Works great and it lets you download a lot of content.

I have an iphone, so the same applies, I am sure. So, just get a Lightning/HDMI cord, phone on one end and tv to the other. How strong a wifi signal would I need? Camp site is a little iffy. Not bad, just iffy. Or could we use a personal hotspot? Thanks

Yep i usually just down oad a bunch of stuff when wii fi is available. Or you can just download off your signal. That way when your watching internet is not needed.

It’s not cheap. Amazon has it for $439.

Bolting or mounting an antenna on a camper roof means that parking will need to be done where the camper has open sky to the south. I prefer the tripod as the antenna can be set up where trees don't block its view of the southern sky. I have personally found that many of the campgrounds where we live are placed in areas near rivers and often have big trees as a result. I carry 75', 50', 25' and a 12' length of RG6 and try and place my antenna on top my slide where possible and use the 12' piece of RG6 as performance is best.

Thanks! But, I think there was a Winegard dome on the roof already. Just plug and go? And if KeyTV doesn't work, just connect my Direct TV cables to the docking station connector?

Where would I find a Tripod?

Yea ive been blocked a couple times. Thats why i always have stuff downloaded on my phone. Or if wifi is available i just use that on my tv. But there have been times where the dish being 12ft off the ground helped out also. I also have a dome that i used with my mh but i have been letting my friend use it for his camper.

The Winegard on the roof is your antenna, it is not for satellite. Many of the dishes you can buy will work with only one or the other Dish or DTV, very few work with both. If you ever switch providers, you need a new dish. The King One Pro can work with both Dish and DTV.
